A 1-0 away win against Académica.

Sporting and Benfica also win...the table looks like this

1 º F.C. Porto 7 7 0 0 12 - 1 21
2 º Sporting 7 4 2 1 12 - 4 14
3 º Marítimo 7 4 2 1 10 - 3 14
4 º Benfica 7 3 4 0 9 - 2 13

Porto already running away with it... sad.gif

That Leidson is a killer stiker surprised he has never been called up to the NT, lol he's eligible for Portugal now.

Liedson from Sporting I assume?

Yeah he is good, I don't think Portugal should go for any more Brazilians, although with all the strikers they have one wouldn't hurt. Pepe and Deco to an extent were a bit pointless, but a striker could come in handy wink.gif
DDK
Yeah they dont have that much talent depth like they do in the midfield, leidson would be perfrect for them.

Liedson is eligible but the madness has to stop! Pepe was definitely pointless...Almeida and Makukula deserve a chance to show they can wear the shirt

Makukula from DR Congo? icon_mrgreen.gif

He was born in Congo but came to Portugal when he was 5 so spent all his youth in Portugal I believe and only moved to Spanish league when he became a senior player...very different to players like Deco and Pepe...we'd be here non-stop with loads of countries if the criteria is where you were born

Simone Perrota anyone...? Mauro Camoranesi is an Argie...big players for you in the World cup wink.gif
JuveJay
Perrotta is an Italian born in Manchester by default of his fathers occupation. I also heard somewhere that he wasn't actually born in England but moved as a baby, anyway Camoranesi you have a point.
What you don't want is a team full of non-Portuguese, there is no way they can play for the shirt like a Portuguese player would. The same for other countries.
At least it isn't as bad as the Brazilians playing for Qatar for money dry.gif

Makakula was brought up in Portugal though...so point is it's not the same...though I do absolutely agree with you...these naturalisations are not a good thing and you do not want fans to start losing identity with the national team, especially in Portugal where there's amazing pride and fan support in our national team, unlike in this country
JuveJay
Some people in Italy still don't want Camoranesi in the Nazionale, but after the WC win they are all pretty much demi-gods.
Giuseppe Rossi is an interesting one, I have no problems here though as he is ethnically Italian, like Perrotta. Camoranesi is a different matter, he was raised an Argentinian but has Italian roots.
There is also a lad called Fernando Forestieri at Siena who is 17 and plays for Italy U19 even though he is from Argentina, his family are Sicilian and they think Argentina is too dangerous (laugh.gif - Sicily), they want him to lead an Italian life and he wants to play for Italy.

Anyway, I've ruined the thread after DDK's intervention on foreign nationals icon_mrgreen.gif

Of course but that's for obvious reasons. They speak the same language so Brazilians are more willing to go there and see it as a good steppings stone, and portuguese clubs can get there first and bring over the talent cheaply before they are well known...

But a lot of people are against these naturalisations
