Haven't heard anything about him, so I think I'd quite like the £1m grin.gif

I haven't heard anything either!
But I think he's worth at least 2 million icon_mrgreen.gif

One of the football squads

In the tournament there were schools from different parts of England, most of them with 2 or 3 teams. We had two teams: a senior squad and a junior squad. Both teams played well, but particularly well done to the seniors who got to the semi finals and just missed their chance of getting to the final!

On the Thursday we went to the theme park. However, it was the only day when it poured with rain and was freezing cold. Despite the horrible weather, we had a great time at the theme park even though some rides were shut.

In the evening we went to a medieval night. The play we saw was very good, with horses and sword fighting involved! We all enjoyed our meal, although a full chicken was a lot for us to eat!

Friday was our final day and in the morning were the presentations. Many people got awards, for both good and bad reasons!

The players’ player awards went to:

Junior football: Adam Parkinson

Senior football: Jack Hoyle

The coach’s player awards went to:

Junior football: Elliot Kebbie

Senior football: Eddie Hunter

£3m...
JuveJay
I wonder how many from the Man Utd youth system actually originated there?
Leeds Lad
never head of him. a google search showed said that he was/is the england sprint champion (for his age group i assume)

i don't think Ken bates would let him for £1m, especially if he is actually that good to sign for them lot.

OR maybe he's a great sprinter and not as a good a bobsledder footballer so we should cash in.
We usually hear about the good ones early on and nobody seems to have heard about this kid!
Smudge
Also, I texted my mate from Thorp Arch but haven't had a reply yet, although I think he said he was away for most of the week.
He'll know who he is for sure!
JuveJay
He probably just blitzes past players in his age group, he might have the first touch of Emile Heskey for all we know icon_mrgreen.gif

No way! We want money if he's that shit clap.gif
Smudge
My mate finally replied about half an hour ago.

The reply, which I have kindly translated from text speak into English

"Decent right winger who can play in centre midfield. I wouldn't say he's Man United quality. He's improving, but not as good as others his age. His main strength is speed - he's the fastest player I have seen at that age. His technique and touch need alot of work"
Smudge
So basically, sprinting ability aside, he doesn't sound especially promising at the moment.
JuveJay
Sounds like a future England right winger!

Haven't heard anything else. It was probably just crap. Apparently it was the lad's dad who started the rumours anyway!
Proud to be Leeds

It is a belter of a name!
Smudge
He's bound to be an England international with a name like that. Although I hope his parents are Scottish!

BTW, he was born to play for Dirty Leeds, wasn't he icon_mrgreen.gif

Kebbie and Payne are both 16.
Smudge
Apparently, Kebbie is infact 14 and not 16!

Anyway, Bates revealed in his babyfarm rant that Kebbie went to Man United and Everton the other week and decided to sign for Leeds instead. BOOOOOOOM.
Leeds Lad
fair play to the lad. Can't disagree with him keeping his options open, having a look at what he could be doing at other clubs, but when it comes down to it, home is where the heart is (corny i know) icon_mrgreen.gif

United's Academy sides picked up two good results against Manchester United on Saturday.

While the under-18s drew 2-2 with the Reds, the under-16s picked up a fine 4-1 victory.

The under-18s had fallen a goal behind in their clash, but an own goal levelled matters before Lewis Turner made it 2-1 before the hour-mark.

The visitors levelled matters before the final whistle, though, ensuring honours ended even.

"We went in 1-0 down at half-time, but the second half was a different kettle of fish," said Under-18s manager Neil Redfearn. "We were very positive in pressing high up the pitch and wrestled the initiative away from Manchester.

"The only draw back was that we didn't see the game through because over the 90 minutes we were the better side."

Scorers for the under-16s were Dean Bartle, Toyan Dore, Jahsiah Donaldson, and Simon Lenighan.

United under-18s: Jones, Darville, Watson, Milne, N Turner, Baxendale (Payne), Booker, Hatfield, L Turner, Elliott, Whitwell (Birbeck).

Highlighted Dean Bartle, he's my mates brother. The club reckon he'll make it. Scum have been sniffing around, but his family are massive leeds fans and have told them to do one clap.gif clap.gif

HIPPERHOLME Grammar School student Elliot Kebbie, who was 15 last Friday, has opted to stay with Leeds United's academy.

Formerly of Rastrick but now living at Sowerby, Elliot (right) has been to Holland with Manchester United's Youth team in the close season and also been coached, trained and played a game or two with Everton's youth teams.

However, he has opted to stay with the club he has been with since the age of seven and the Leeds club is said to be delighted.

Chairman Ken Bates has personally thanked his mother Maggie and Elliot is said, to be delighted that he is staying at Thorp Arch, Wetherby to continue with United.

United have just been awarded compensation of £600,000 for a 16-year-old who has gone from them to Everton and Manchester City have offered £70,00 for a couple of Elliott's teammates but Leeds have turned that down and want to take them to a tribunal for a lot more.

In the meantime he is waiting to hear next week if he has made the cull from the England under-16 train-on squad of 40 at Lilleshall down to 20 but has been asked to attend hospital for a cardiac test this very evening, which sounds very promising to me.

He has also hit the catwalk as a guest for the Louise Morton modelling agency showing the latest line in Vivienne Westwood clothes. He had a dress rehearsal on Monday evening, is back on Sunday for more and then the real thing at the Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top, next Tuesday, September 22.

He wasn't too keen on going but when he had strut his stuff he was told he was a natural and actually enjoyed it, according to his rightfully proud mother.

We shall no doubt over the next year or two be hearing a lot more of this lad as he carves out a career in professional football that many can only dream about.

Smudge
He plays football AND models for Westwood?
What a fucking cool kid clap.gif

I love how the tone changed in this thread once he signed for Leeds laugh.gif

Has he joined Spurs yet? icon_mrgreen.gif

Lol, I always said he was worth 2m to be fair! Kebbie signed his scholar forms a few months ago so he will be an officially LUFC scholar in July when he finishes school. Same goes for the afforementioned Chrissy "fucking brilliant" Dawson.

PS. The Manchester United rumours have reared their heads again although I suspect that is why you bumped the thread.
JuveJay
No I just saw a guest reading it icon_mrgreen.gif
Smudge
Oh right. Well yeah, the club have been forced to deny the reports this week.
Smudge
Incidentally, Bobby Davison is the current youth manager (not permanent, though). His goal scoring record was most favourable for us clap.gif
Proud to be Leeds
Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea have all had him watched recently.

Keep away paedo's!

Chelsea and Spurs in 'Can't Be Arsed To Have An Academy' shocker.

Do!

Don't be bitter. Kate Is Great.

Kebbie's apparently gone to Barcelona. "Lol". Next chapter of the story: how much compensation will we be getting?
JuveJay
Really? huh.gif
Smudge
No icon_mrgreen.gif

This story has taken on a life of it's own but the reality is apparently this: Kebbie has moved to Spain with his family and he's just on trial with Barca. As I'm sure many half decent youngsters are each summer.

Fuck this, if he goes to a poor club in Spain, I'll be angry. I've got that money spent already icon_mrgreen.gif
JuveJay
He seems at least 4 years too old to be poached by Barcelona, and too much of a runner icon_mrgreen.gif
Smudge
I've still yet to hear anybody say anything other than he's a good sprinter.
Smudge
They decided against signing Kebbie who has been described as "very disappointing".
