The defender is fully focused on Spain's upcoming fixtures...
Raul Albiol insists that now is not the time to talk about Real Madrid as Spain prepare for a friendly with Azerbaijan before the start of the Confederations Cup.
Along with a few other Valencia players, Albiol has been linked with a move to Madrid lately and could be set to leave the Mestalla this summer.
However, speaking to the press today, the defender refused to comment on the speculation and said he is just enjoying his time with the national team.
"The truth is that I only think about what I am going to do now, to be with the national team and enjoy an important tournament for Spain. I will enjoy myself and try to contribute what I can to the team. Any player likes interest but it is not the time to speak about that," Marca quote him as saying.
"Nobody from my club has told me anything, I have a contract with Valencia and this is not the moment to talk, bur rather to enjoy the opportunity I have with the national team."
Albiol was also asked about how Spain will approach their upcoming fixtures, and stated that there will be no complacency.
"We have to respect Azerbaijan a lot because, even though we do not know much about them, it will be a game where their motivation will make it tough for us. It is not easy to play away and I am sure they will make it hard. It is a match that will be good preparation for the Confederations Cup," he explained.
"We will be motivated from the start of the Confederations Cup and we will try to reach the semi-finals at the minimum. We will see then who we get, but we cannot think now about Brazil or Italy, we have to be mentally prepared for the first three matches to avoid surprises."
