All right folks, here it is, last match of 2009 for MLS!
Thomas19064
Did we have a prediction thread this season for the playoffs and MLS Cup contenders this year? I feel like I made picks... want to see if I was close....
CK
No clue where the thread is, we'll need to make sure in 2010 to do so.

I said Houston v. Columbus in final I believe, so...wrong. laugh.gif

well 4/8 playoff teams isn't toooo bad I guess... tongue.gif

also I got the order of the Canadian Championship right! icon_mrgreen.gif

Galaxian nailed the west teams... and got 2 of the East teams for the playoffs... and the Expansion team bonus...
CK
Ah right, I was heading for Europe about then.

I would've been wrong anyways laugh.gif
Thomas19064
So word is Seattle is opening it up about 42K for the MLS Cup... not too shabby, hopefully it fills out nice and has a good atmosphere.

Also apparently Garber is considering on changing the Playoff format to allow the higher seed team to Host the MLS cup as well for next year... interesting...... certainly would incline teams to continue to perform and aim for the SS after they secured a playoff spot.
CK
So, would the SS winner get it so we'd know month in advance, or whoever is higher seed (Ex: Los Angeles this year would host)?

42K actually seems...bit low for Seattle, I wonder if this has more to do with sponsor obligations than demand.

I'm such a genius. icon_mrgreen.gif

I couldn't be more stoked for the game. I'm in Seattle right now and the thought of playing for the Cup is really starting to hit me now. I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little nervous about RSL but I honestly think this is our year. After all we've been through, it has to be.

GO GALAXY! Let's bring the Cup home!!
CK
HE LIVES! ohmy.gif
nufc
thought he was dead! good to see he's still around... come on galaxy!

So, what will it be Los Angeles reclaiming its place as premier side (3rd title in 6 finals) in the league or Salt Lake emerging as new force (first ever final appearance)?
JuveJay
I would watch it but it's too late for me, hope it's a good game. Very nice trophy by the way!
CK
Yeah, finally got it right after two suspect trophies, I hope we keep this for a long long time!

Maybe amongst the last for a while since I just missed the entire season.

Thanks!

EA have apparantly predicted a 2-1 Galaxy win having run the game in FIFA 2010. laugh.gif

Well, that settles it. laugh.gif

Prediction: Start off slow, 0-0 at HT, breakthrough by Salt Lake in 62nd minute by Morales, Los Angeles levels by Donovan in 77th minute, then in ET of course Beckham nails a free kick and Ricky runs onto the pitch hugging his hero in glory. icon_mrgreen.gif

Hmm... sounds pretty shit. Maybe I'll watch NFL instead. icon_mrgreen.gif
Fabregas#4
I might watch the first half, or I might just record it. Galaxy for the win. Donovan to score! Becks to get an assist and then he can go back to Italy having won the big trophy.
CK
Weather is poor, around 5 degrees Celsius and drizzles. Could be messy match with slick surface and all.

You have been reported to forum section moderator.

*Moderator hat on*

Yes, what's all this? Hmmm, frantic insanity, swearing in serious degree and insulting posture. This won't do. Warning now, be on best behavior my fellow American. icon_mrgreen.gif

Must say, thank you to forum for interest in our little cup final. Good to see folks in our section. grin.gif

hahaha.gif Well met Jay.
calderone01
I'll read about it tomorrow rather than watch the Beckham fan cam. laugh.gif

Good luck to Galaxian. While I have a closer connection to RSL with the ex Crew players there(Andy Williams, Wingert, Grabavoy) I really don't have a horse in this race. I hope for a good match and that ESPN doesn't embarrass us too much.

scottrh18
ESPN will be so busy bumming Beckham that most will forget there's an actual game being played.

Eagles are on at the same time tonight..... that being said they have been pissing me off lately, so I think I may actually be watching more of the Cup tonight then the Eagles/Bears game.... I'll be flipping back and forth either way... can't completely abandon my football team. laugh.gif

and to think I work for the Eagles too..... wow, I'm a terrible employee I guess.... tongue.gif
calderone01
Didn't the Eagles fire someone recently for making negative online comments? biggrin.gif
