I've been gone since Sunday at soccer camp at JMU (James Madision University) and there were like 5 or 6 different college scouts there to watch the best players in the state (Virginia) and some college players trying to keep in shape for next season . My skill was levels below most of the players I played with. The best guy there was from Spain he was amazing and he was playing an age group (I was too but with my team) This kid had a phenomial first touch and shot, not to mention I don't think I've ever seen someone quicker with the ball.. It just blew me away that some random kid from Spain is running circles around the best players in the state

Those camps are pretty cool...I never went to one but I know quite a few players that have gotten recruited directly as a result of those college camps.

I quite like football camps, its good break to go away and play football!
Are they basically trials for you to get into a team?
Young Spanish players are actually pretty decent, we had one playing for my team once who was a brilliant player but then moved to America.

Yes they were basically a way for coaches to look at players going into their Junior year (in highschool) or up coming seniors (in highschool) but then like a good bit of college players or incoming college players came back to the camp to stay in shape. But yeah the Spanish guy is moving here to play for that college. Untouchable to answer your question more directly yes its a trial to go to a college team however we did have a guy who had a try out with DC United.

Cool. Nice one mate

Im also doing trials at the moment. A lot of running involved so if i dont get in i will certainly be very fit for whatever academey i do play for.

Yeah they invited most of my club team to come there and we were the youngest ones in the group but still did pretty good when we played in games against the other teams and players. But it also helped they gave us the best defender in the state for u-17 or u-18 and we had a couple players from the ODP U-17 US National team

Are all these players coming from all over America or in your just local area?
Next year were actually due to be going to America and Holland to stay out there for a holiday and play friendly's should be good and we probably will beat most the American teams but seems some players out there are pretty decent.

Players from all over the country came (and the spanish kid) but majority of them were players from Virginia. But a club i played on a few years back went to England and had a friendly out there.. I cant remeber who it was against though. However we won 4-2 but we brought players from other clubs as well

How's the System in Virginia? Do they have Classic or Premier Level Teams where they go about 1-5, 1-2. Etc...?
What position do you play Manu15?

I play striker/ attacking mid. But in Virginia the bigger cities (Richmond Kickers, and teams like that) have like 3 or 4 club teams then classic, then a B team, then the premier team. And in order to play in the league with the premier teams you have to finish in the top 3 of a like certified classic league. Which we did and my team also finished first in a premier league (one of the weaker ones though) and we got invited into a higher league (like the Champions league I suppose) but we declined because we would had to practice everyday year around and quit every other sport that we played
