ANSAmed) - MADRID, DECEMBER 13 - World Cup winning Spain is in a state of shock following yet another inquiry on doping has turned its world of athletics upside down, even casting a shadow of doubt over its historic World and European Cup titles. The threat to spill the beans comes, once again, from Eufemiano Fuentes, the sport medicine gynaecologist around whom the 2006 ''operacion Puerto'' revolved, with its list of world-renowned cyclists - including Italy's Ivan Basso. Under arrest with another fourteen accused in the ''operacion Galgo'' swoop on suspected doping drug traffickers, Fuentes is said to have promise his cell mates awaiting their turn to be interrogated by the investigating magistrate: ''If I were to talk, it would be goodbye to the World and European trophies''
http://www.ansamed.info/en/spagna/news/ME.XEF79263.htmlEven if it is true, I'm sure FIFA will find a way to cover it up...

WADA are brutal as well, Spain had better be squeaky clean as far as they are concerned.

Was debating with myself yesterday whether to post this or not. Figured it didn't matter that much. No matter what happened, I seriously doubt UEFA or FIFA would do anything. And trust me,... the world will be just fine with that.

I don't think so either, but Fuentes is not some nobody, he's well known figure around the doping scandals in cycling

Sounds like he is going down and trying to take everyone with him.
But really, unless it is some huge scandal I can't see any football authorities taking action over what is probably a small matter, they don't want that sort of attention.

True. But have you heard anyone about Spain having to return their Fair Play Award 2010 after the FIFA fined them for unsporting behavior? No? That's because only in FIFA-land you can get an award like that while being fined for the exact opposite at the same time, so they didn't have to worry about returning the award.
If FIFA wants something to go away, it will go away,... and the world will eventually bend over and ask for more.

I'm not expecting FIFA to do anything either, if an organization is supposedly against racism and intolerance and then awards the WC to Qatar it has lost all credibility with me...

True, he has nothing to lose anymore, there's a lot going on with doping in Spanish cycling and this guy is at the centre of it. It's always been a sort of mythe that there's no doping in football, but who knows....

Drugs and doping in sports is not taken very seriously, especially in this sport. With the amount of money everyone is getting paid, they should have to submit to a hair follicle test so they can suspend players and attempt to clean up the game.

So if the Spanish players did take drugs, what's to say your lot didn't?
Looking at De Jong's behaviour he looks much more like the doping cunt

Not saying Spain did anything, but FIFA certainly would cover anything up. They are disgusting corrupt bastards.

This is why I didn't post the topic. If you're Dutch and you post this, certain people will jump to conclusions,... without checking the background of the story and the people involved (I know,... Google is complicated to use). Also want to point out that no one here actually said the Spain used doping/drugs/Pepsi Cola or accused them of doing so. Regret responding here to begin with, so that's the last thing I'll say on on the matter.

Lol thought about that too, but Ricky is full of shit anyway and B5X is still bitter that we beat Brazil, so you can't take either of them seriously..It is currently an issue so I thought it warranted a threat, that doesn't mean I want Spain disqualified or even believe that they took something..

LOL it's so funny that the 2 most active posters in this thread are magix and APS. Seriously, I hated Spain for winning the World Cup, just check my posts, I thought their football was boring, but to say that they took performance enhancing drugs, LOL.

Lol that would be weird our teams from the 70s and 90s were so much superior.

I didn't think their football was boring, but why is it impossible that they took performance enhancing drugs, it happens in every other sport, so why not football

If drug tests can not be enforced upon the players then this isn't a sport as there is no equal playing field, regardless of who's doing it.
