the people in venezuela will have a very entertaining match there.... brazil start the tournament badly, but dunga said the successfull team must feel all from bad to good he hope final will be their peak performance.
in the other hand, Argentina have a solid performance, from the begining till their last match. hope they can maintain it.

we're in a win-win situation: if we win the final against all odds, then hooray, we defeated Argentina with the weakest Brasilian NT in over a decade. And if we lose, we get rid of Dunga. Either way, we'll have something to celebrate.
zico10
Jul 13 2007, 05:57 AM
I think you won't get rid of dunga. Didn't the CBF already announce that this tournament will not affect the coaching position.
And don't be fool, Argentina will never win 4-1. IMO brasil is allways favorite outside of argentina. Brazil is allways playing better when it comes to this game. I think argentina will win, but it will be something like 2-1 or 1-0.

I don't know man, can't say we will win ,but like Galo said anything can happen in a super classico, their defense looked shaky at times in Mexico game,Mexico could not capitalize.this tragic version of the team is pathetic, many player played in every game and still underperforming.

So Dunga didn't take this Cup very seriously? I know La Liga, Serie A lasted a long time, but he should have still brought in some more players or at least trained the team he has better.
I mean back in 2004, Brasil had nothing to lose and now it looks like no Confed. Cup for them. Looks like, but anything can happen.

So Dunga didn't take this Cup very seriously?
he did but the top players didn't
Brasil always treat Copa America badly,it always happens in the summer, most top players want out, find excuses not to play,so we are left with player who play so so for NT or never played.then it is up to the coach to select the players besides the first team,Dunga screwed here, can't blame him much,Parreira had a B team in 2004,we stole the title from Argentina on penalties.they were very strong then too, brought in their first team.
in recent years we too first team twice,in 1997 and 1999,won both,With Ronaldo/Rivaldo and rest of the boys.
In 2001,Scolari faced the same problem,he took a bad team,he asked Romario to play but Romario made excuse and went to vacation in Mexico,Scolari never called Romario again.

MARACAIBO, Venezuela, July 12 (Reuters) - Brazil's players have rejected the idea that Argentina will start as favourites in Sunday's Copa America final.
Argentina have brought a full strength-team and have cruised to the final, scoring 16 goals on their way to winning all five games.
Brazil, on the other hand, kicked off with a 2-0 defeat against Mexico and needed a penalty shootout to beat Uruguay in their semi-final.
The defending champions are also without Kaka and Ronaldinho, who asked to be rested from the tournament.
"We can't talk about favourites before the game has even started," said midfielder Elano. "These are two great teams. Anything can happen on the day."
Anderson said: "They have excellent players with excellent quality but so do Brazil."
Assistant coach Jorginho also shrugged off the idea that Brazil start as underdogs.
"A final is a final," said the 1994 World Cup winner. "Names alone won't win the game. We feel fine and confident. We will see who are the favourites on the pitch."
Brazil met Argentina in the final in similar circumstances three years ago in Peru. On that occasion, Argentina were also favourites and Brazil were missing several regular players.
Despite that, Brazil forced a 2-2 draw and then won on penalties.
"We've suffered a lot to get here," said midfielder Diego.
"The target is the same as usual, to be champions. There are a lot of coincidences and we have to take the positive things onto the pitch."
"We hope to obtain the same success as last time. There are no favourites."

Dunga says Argentina favorites
MARACAIBO, Venezuela (Reuters) - Brazil coach Dunga on Friday declared Argentina as favorites to win the Copa America final against his team on Sunday.
"From what Argentina have done so far, they are the favourites," he told reporters. "We've done our part by reaching the final, now we have to surpass that.
"But I always want to win, this is a final and anything can happen," he added.
"We have conviction in our work, we knew it would not be easy, that there would be innumerable difficulties on the way."
Argentina have scored 16 goals and won all five games in reaching the final. Brazil, on the other hand, lost to Mexico in the early rounds and needed penalties to beat Uruguay in their semi-final.
Brazil are also without Ronaldinho and Kaka, who asked to be rested from the tournament, while Argentina are at full strength.
"Argentina is a mature team which has played together before, Brazil is a new team with only two players from the last World Cup," added Dunga.
The old rivals also met in the 2004 Copa America final in Peru, where Brazil scored with the last kick of the game to force a 2-2 draw and then won on penalties.

well lotsa of players like Alex De Souza, Diego and Rivaldo were simply not recalled after they helped Brazil qualify. Others (who weren't playing in the selecao) were chosen in their place by CAP. That's not too consistent nor continuous is it? And after each wc you don't recall some of your original players? surely some have retired from the nt now but many of those who haven't aren't selected any longer. also many of he original wc 2002 nt players were either forgotten or dropped in 2006. Gilberto confident for final
Gilberto Silva believes his Brazil side can upset the odds and beat Argentina in the Copa America final - which you watch live on Sky Sports 1.
Argentina have been impressive in reaching the final and Gilberto accepts they are favourites to win.
But the Arsenal midfielder insists Brazil have improved with every game and are ready to challenge their great rivals.
Since suffering a shock 2-0 defeat to Mexico in their opening game, the Samba Boys have scored 12 goals in four matches.
Gilberto told Sky Sports News: "From the start of the competition they have been favourites, but we have done very well after the first game.
"The team has settled and played a few games very well.
"If we are to beat them everyone has to give 100 per cent. We cannot complain if everyone gives 100 per cent."
well, let the results speak. Best of luck to Brazil
