Going to be a bit of a heated affair I should imagine if JT plays in this one and he will no doubt want to be selected for it

We'll batter them. QPR won't get the luck the they got in October, we'll put 8 past them with QPR scoring none.

Terry v Ferdinand set for FA Cup clash just four days before race row court showdown

QUOTE
John Terry and Anton Ferdinand could go head-to-head on the pitch just four days before their court date. After QPR's victory in the FA Cup replay against MK Dons on Tuesday night, they will now host west London rivals Chelsea at Loftus Road. The derby will be at noon on January 28 - which is just four days before Terry is due in West London Magistrates’ Court to answer allegations he made a racist comment to Ferdinand when the teams met three months ago. Terry denies the charge.

QPR manager Mark Hughes will check with Ferdinand before deciding whether to play him in the match.

The 26-year-old helped his side set up the mouthwatering tie by defeating then MK Dons 1-0 in their third round replay.

Asked whether he had any concerns about playing Ferdinand against Chelsea, Hughes said: 'No. Obviously I will speak with all the players leading into the game and get an understanding of where they are in their mind in terms of the mentality that you need to go into that game.

'It is a challenging game and a big test for us, but knowing Anton and having seen him over the years I am quite sure he will want to be involved in that game. 'It is a big game anyway because of the opposition and they are near neighbours. We will take it when it presents itself but our focus is very much on the weekend against Wigan. 'It is a huge game for us and we need to improve on what we have improved today and arguably we have to be better than what we were on Sunday as well to win the game.

I should imagine that both players will want to play and I wonder if it will turn out to be fiery encounter again, in the last game we had 2 sent off and it swung the balance in their favour, let's hope we have more discipline in the ranks this time round

No doubt there will be plenty of coverage for this one

Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers are poised to make impassioned pleas to supporters travelling to their potentially explosive FA Cup clash.

QUOTE
QPR's narrow 1-0 win over MK Dons on Tuesday night set up a mouthwatering fourth-round clash against their bitter west London rivals at Loftus Road on January 28. The tie will see John Terry and Anton Ferdinand go head-to-head for the first time since the infamous clash on October 23

QPR won 1-0, but the match was overshadowed by allegations that the Chelsea skipper racially abused Ferdinand. And both clubs, the Metropolitan Police and Football Association will make their own moves to ensure the clash does not implode into something more sinister.

QPR and Chelsea are both considering posting messages on their websites ahead of the match asking fans to behave themselves. Given the match was only confirmed on Tuesday night, discussions over security operations for the derby are at an early stage.

But Rangers are expected to take more robust security measures for the clash, which would include increased stewarding.

QPR spokesman Ian Taylor confirmed: 'As with every other fixture we host at Loftus Road, all procedures are pre-planned with the emergency services and local authorities and this will be no different for the visit of Chelsea in the FA Cup fourth round.

'Our top priority is always to ensure the safety and enjoyment of both sets of supporters and stewarding, security and policing numbers will reflect that.'

Apart from JT getting soundly bood everytime he touches the ball I doubt things will happen amongst the fans, at least not inside the ground at any rate, it's how the players on the pitch will behave on the day that will matter

Lampard blow for Chelsea as midfielder looks set to miss FA Cup showdown with QPR

QUOTE
Frank Lampard is set to miss Chelsea's FA Cup clash with QPR after a scan revealed a small tear in his calf. Lampard limped off after 36 minutes of the Blues' goalless draw at Norwich on Saturday.
The midfielder is expected to travel to Mallorca where Chelsea are preparing for Saturday's fourth-round tie with some warm-weather training.

Bit of a blow but the squad is big enough to be able to cope without him

Chopper
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas insists Terry will definitely face QPR. Villas-Boas, speaking as he prepared to take his side on a five-day warm weather training break to Majorca, said:‘There is no temptation to leave him out.’

And Villas-Boas has appealed for Chelsea fans not to single out Ferdinand during the tie at Loftus Road.
'Regarding the fans, it is our responsibility as a club to calm the situation around the game and also to put on a message for the media as you can do excellent work in calming things down and everyone can have an impact for just another game of football,' said the Chelsea boss, who has no intention of leaving Terry out of the squad next weekend.

Can't believe this is not being shown live somewhere

Anyway

QUOTE
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has insisted QPR's Anton Ferdinand should shake hands with John Terry before Saturday's FA Cup clash at Loftus Road. Villas-Boas said he hoped and expected Ferdinand not to snub Terry, despite allegations the Rangers defender was the victim of a racist slur from the England captain during October's Barclays Premier League game between the sides.

The players square off for the first time since then, and just four days before the court case begins in which Terry stands accused of abusing Ferdinand.

Ferdinand is reportedly agonising over whether to shake Terry's hand before tomorrow's match, amid fears it could be viewed as hypocritical. Asked if it was important he did so, Villas-Boas said: 'Extremely important, extremely important. He added: 'This game is based on good values more than anything else.
'These players should continue to promote these good values.'

Another Wayne Bridge moment on the cards anyone?

Police are investigating after a "malicious communication" - reportedly containing a bullet - was sent to Queens Park Rangers' training ground.

The Met would not reveal the letter's contents or the intended recipient. clap.gif clap.gif priceless

the world has to many idiots with nothing to do, time for a cull me thinks
Sir Mr Chelsea
well this was the worse game i have seen this season

chelsea totally dominated possesion, but did nothing with it, apart from pass it along the back line, (maybe the players wanted hear the qpr fans boo JT every time he touched the ball)
we got a very lucky penalty there was a little bit of contact but not enough imo to warrant a penalty, luckily the penalty was given and was well taken by mata, Chelsea were slow in everything they did, and played the whole game at walking pace
qpr were really poor, championship players in a premier league team, sparky as really ot his work cut out there

bad news for ramires, he was stretchered off, they reckon he's done his knee ligaments in, going be out ofr a while
a clean sheet, cech made 2 good saves, one in the last minute
not many plus points from a chelsea point of view other than we are in the hat for the next round

lot of improvements still needed
QPR_The_Best
On your way QPR, now you can concentrate on finishing bottom of the Premier League.

Chelsea go marching foward, could yet another magic FA Cup win be on the cards for the brilliant Blue's?
Chopper
Never got to see the match today or even hear it on the radio as I was bit busy but I hear we had two penalty shouts and the one that was given was a bit harsh on QPR, can't comment on the other

Sounds like we had a lot of the game but sadly once again failed to inspire up front for all our efforts and as Les has already pointed out a lot still needs to be done. Glad we got through of course and gutted about Ramires getting injured, that could hurt us over the the next month or so while he is out

Another narrow squeek for us in the end but a win is a win no matter how un-entertaining it turned out to be and I heard the crowd were fairly hostile but that was to be expected. I even heard that a QPR supporter climbed up on the TV gantry and was whipping up the crowd and had to be removed by stewards in the end

I will try and catch the highlights later

Luck out

They even themselves out over a season and we would have won anyway so QPR can stop moaning.

Your not wrong there Les, about 7 mins I think there was in total and nearly all our efforts coming from range

The highlights were fairly poor all round, no close up of the incident in question all you saw was the defender and Sturridge coming together and him going down in the box so still don't know what happened really, the ref would have had his view blocked from the incident anyway so not sure who made that call in the first place, didn't get to see the first shout either and also didn't get to see what happened to Ramires although I understand from reports he crocked himself going in to block a shot
Sir Mr Chelsea
it looked like ramires was hit with the ball on his knee whilst he was jumping in the air, it seemed quite a bizare injury
