Well, it was the playoff semi-finals last night (I didn't go, as I was out earlier in the evening and it was on Sky Sports
Early season odds made Swindon the title favourites, with Coventry second and Poole third. The final league table finished Coventry-Swindon-Peterborough-Poole so they were pretty much spot on. This means that Coventry and Swindon played the 4th and 3rd placed teams repsectivelly with home track advantage.
Bees were buoyed by a record-breaking 17 match winning streak at the end of the season which enabled them to pip Swindon who had been top for most of the season.
Anyway, it finished Coventry 55-38 Poole and Swindon 50-42 Peterborough so Coventry and Swindon will contest the two-legged Grand Final.

Coventry will take on Swindon in the Elite League Grand Final after the teams claimed easy victories in Monday's play-offs.
The Bees, who finished top of the Elite League, made the most of home advantage to beat Poole 55-38 while Swindon defeated Peterborough 50-42, also on home shale.
Coventry were always in control at Brandon with the visitors forced to send Bjarne Pedersen out as a tactical ride as early as Heat 7, and although he won to claim a 7-2 it was only a brief respite for the Pirates.
Pedersen (18) and Jason Crump did their best for Poole, winning six of the first 12 heats, but they lacked support as few of the wins earned a heat advantage.
Steve Johnston (11+2) continued his good recent form, twice overtaking Jason Doyle on the last lap to claim narrow victories, while Scott Nicholls (11) and Rory Schlein provided support.
The one downside to the victory was an injury to Olly Allen, who will be ruled out for at least the first leg of the final after damaging shoulder ligaments.
At Blunsdon, reigning champions Peterborough kept in touch early on but Swindon, employing Davey Watt in place of the injured Leigh Adams, came on strong in the second half to win comfortably.
Lee Richardson (10+2) bagged his usual double-figure haul for Swindon but it was their solid team scoring that won the day, while Hans Andersen stood alone for the Panthers with 15 points.

If you have never been up the speedway before, even if you don't have any interest in motorsports or bikes I would say it is well worth a go. It is a great night out. If you have any questions about the sport give me a shout.
