Well, he never really got much of a chance here in LA. Had a hard time getting on the pitch. He's got great quickness and agility, but is lacking in size. I was actually very surprised to hear he signed with Sydney, but I wish him the best of luck. I hope he gets enough playing time. He's a really nice guy, I've met him a couple of times.
NCFC_Ben
Cool. I hope he doesnt do well icon_mrgreen.gif How do you rate Tony Lochhead that used to play for England Revolution?

Haven't seen him play much, to be honest. I saw him when his university team, Santa Barbara, was playing in the College Cup against Indiana, but they lost on penalties. I remember him standing out pretty well, as he was one of the best players on the pitch, and I could just tell he had a solid career ahead of him.

But didn't catch much of him while playing for New England though. He's in the A-League now, right?

Only Mark Milligan. Our league just restarted after the old one was dismantled because it was corrupt and not going so well. More domestic players are starting to get into the squad now.
NCFC_Ben
Yeah he's back with our Wellington Phoenix. When he told New England he wanted to come home, they wanted to free up an international spot or something.

I heard otherwise, he wanted to stay but they wanted to sign the Irish lad so he was cut.
NCFC_Ben
That was on Wikipedia, but the reliability of Wikipedia is heavily limited.

Some interview I saw said he wanted to go, and they free up the spot for this other international. A combination of the opporunity to sign this other guy and the fact he wanted to leave anyway

Wellington Phoenix? Whatever happened to the New Zealand Knights?
DDK
Their leicence was revoked because of poor management, and the on-field performance of the team was bad as well. Wellington replaced them, it's still a New Zealand based team.
Galaxian
OK. So did most of the players on Wellington come directly from the Knights? Or is it a completely new team?
DDK
Like 4 Knights players are in the new team. Its virtually a completely new team, but they have much better players. The previous team recruited poorly, had too many has beens and lower tier football players who ciuldnt cut it in the a-league.
