David Trezeguet was born on October 15, 1977, in Rouen, France. His mum is called Beatrice and his dad - who used to be a footballer and played for Chacarita Junior and then Estudiantes and is now also his agent - is called Jorge.

David had to leave France because of his father's football commitments and lived in Argentina until the age of 17.
His wife is called Beatrice and they have a son called Aaron, to whom the couple speak in both French and Spanish.
When he's free he listens to a lot of music, watches the occasional film on TV and also reads. He adores shopping around Turin, a city which he considers ideal for someone like him: it's big, lively, but at the same time definitely reserved.

He has a soft spot for latin music, but also appreciates house and R’N’B. His favourite actor is John Travolta, but he also likes other Hollywood heavyweights such as De Niro, Al Pacino and Dustin Hoffman very much. His favourite film is David Fincher's 7even, a thriller, the genre he prefers.

David is a meat lover. He lived in Argentina as a boy and fell in love with the local food, the main ingredient of which is meat: it's among the best in the world and is prepared in a variety of ways: barbecued (braseros), skewered (asados), grilled (churrascos) or boiled (puncheros), always served in generous portions accompanied by pulses, potatoes, rice or maize and various sauces such as chimichurri.
When he reached Italy he discovered Mediterranean cuisine and pretty soon became an enthusiast of it: pasta, rice and first dishes in general are his favourites.

The way David dresses reflects his personality: sober and refraining from any excess. He alternates between casual and elegant attire. He's not worried too much about accessories, but there is one detail he pays a lot of attention to: his sunglasses. He's not obsessively into fashion, but he does put a great deal of care in choosing the right colour combinations.

He's not interested in other sports much, but he does like tennis. He's impressed by Federer's physical prowess. When he can he plays a few sets himself.

David began playing football when he was 8, in Atletico Pratense's youth teams; his goal was to imitate his all-time idol, Diego Armando Maradona. He joined AS Monaco in 1995/96 and played for them until 2000.
He's won a great deal since joining Juventus: 4 League titles (he considers them all won despite the fact that two were stripped from Juventus), 2 Italian Super Cups and he was also the League's top scorer for the 2001/02 season. It would really be impossible for him to choose the defining moment out of all these happy memories.

But not taking into consideration his experiences with the "Old Lady" in Turin, he has no doubts: the most significant victories of his football career have been the World Cup in 1998 and the European Championships in 2000.

On a personal level, David hopes he and his loved ones can enjoy plenty of peace and happiness. As a footballer, he’s concentrating on one single aim: to win trophies with Juventus again, as soon as possible.

Juventus hitman David Trezeguet admits that his goal last night was offside, but is focusing on the Capocannoniere crown.

The French international opened the scoring in the Bianconeri’s 3-0 win over Parma yesterday evening when he pounced to tap in after Mauro Camoranesi’s header had hit the post.

The Parma players were furious because goalkeeper Luca Bucci’s howler had left just Daniele Dessena between Trezeguet and the goal – rendering him offside.

“Obviously my goal was offside,” Trez declared on Sky Sport Italia. “But that’s just the way it goes.

“I hope I can continue like this and keep scoring so that I can win the Capocannoniere title, but I will have to see because Marco Borriello is having an extraordinary season at Genoa.”

Trezeguet now trails Borriello by one goal after taking his season’s tally up to 18.

Whether the former Monaco man can repeat this term’s exploits next year remains to be seen, but the likely arrival of Palermo star Amauri could reduce his impact.

“If Amauri arrived there would be no problems,” Trezeguet maintained. “Whoever is added to this squad will receive a warm welcome.

“Amauri is more than a menace to me, he is a superb striker and he would be an asset.”

Elkann: Trez could go

John Elkann admitted French striker David Trezeguet could leave Juventus to join Barcelona this summer.

Elkann, nephew of former Juventus owner Gianni Agnelli, has now been proclaimed new President of Ifil, the company which backs up the Old Lady financially.

“Will Trezeguet leave Juventus? You should go and ask Barcelona,” confessed Elkann.

His statement confirmed the rumours regarding the striker, who has been linked to the Spanish giants for a long time.

The French bomber is Claudio Ranieri's first choice in attack and, despite the capture of Brazilian ace Amauri, is still regarded as the Bianconeri's main centre-forward.

Trezeguet scored 20 goals for the Old Lady this season but Juve sporting director Alessio Secco could decide to cash in on the 31-year-old.

The Turin giants are planning to spend big on other areas of their team this summer and could use the proposed fee of £20m to finance their bid for Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso.

Furthermore, Alessandro Del Piero and Amauri could form a good partnership up front, so the Piemontesi would not be too worried to see Trezeguet go.

However, the negotiations are still at an early stage and is remains to be seen whether an agreement between the two clubs will be found.

Not sure how they made that leap, the team management have said he is staying, plus £20m is too much for a 31 year old Trezeguet.

Trez quits international football

The French Football Association’s decision to keep faith in Raymond Domenech has ended David Trezeguet’s international career.

In spite of his prolific form for the Old Lady, Trez wasn’t selected for Euro 2008 due to his tempestuous relationship with Domenech.

France missed the 20-goal hitman badly as they flopped in Austria and Switzerland, but have extended Domenech’s contract, ending Trezeguet’s hopes of a fresh start under a new Coach.

“Domenech is staying and I am quitting the national side,” Trez said at Juve’s pre-season training camp in Pinzolo.

“The awful European Championship and then the decision to stick with the Coach has forced me to this decision.

“I see football differently to how they see it in France. Euro 2008 was very negative, but it was the faith in Domenech that really annoyed me.

“Decisions seemed to be made politically rather than for footballing reasons and the public opinion in my favour wasn’t respected.”

Now Trez can return to giving his all on the club stage where he is appreciated by the Juve fans.

“This year we need to win something and to do that we need to add players to allow us to make the leap in quality.

“The club is working towards that objective and we all have faith.”

Great news for Juventus, but this doesn't change his current situation because he wasn't being picked anyway.

He is having surgery to correct his knee, it will put him out for up to 4 months but will extend his career by 5 years apparently. Luckily we have great depth this season.

Trez underwent successful surgery yesterday on both of his kneecap tendons, estimated return date is end of January.

Trez returns to training on December 30th, well ahead of schedule. He will have a job on to get regular starts with the form of Amauri but luckily we are entering a busy period and players need rotating, plus I think the can play together. This is bad news for Iaquinta though who is already a bit disgruntled at his lack of games.
JuveJay
Trez is still having a moody with Claudio, I wonder if he can patch up his differences this time because Ranieri is going nowhere this summer. We might see a striker overhaul.

Trez's Chelsea link grows

Agent Antonio Caliendo has given weight to claims that Juventus striker David Trezeguet will join Chelsea this summer.

Trezeguet has been unsettled since arguing with Coach Claudio Ranieri when he was taken off during the Champions League last 16 second leg against Chelsea.

There were widespread reports yesterday that the Frenchman was attracting the attentions of Chelsea and could be subject to an £8m bid.

“A divorce with Juve could suit both parties,” Caliendo told Tuttosport.

“For the moment David is just concentrated on the Scudetto and trying to catch Inter.

“However, Chelsea and another three important English clubs are tracking him and he has never hidden his desire to play in the Premier League.

“It's a championship that excites him and where he could show his true value.

“We will talk to the Juve directors, with whom we have an excellent relationship.

“They know the situation, but they are also thinking about the title for now. We will fix a date somewhere in the future.”

It might be the right time to sell him, I'm sure we could get more than £10m if it is PL buyers.

Trez has said that he would be willing to join Deschamps at Marseille if Juve were to sell him, but says he is not thinking about leaving.

Trez future remains a riddle

Juventus chief Giovanni Cobolli Gigli is ready to sell David Trezeguet but the striker's agent is tight-lipped on possible destinations.

Trez fell out with former boss Claudio Ranieri and seems to have fallen out of love with the Old Lady.

Most experts expect the 32-year-old to quit the club in the summer and President Cobolli Gigli seems happy to part with him.

“We could sell him if we are offered an advantageous deal,” he admitted. “We will consider offers as and when they arrive.”

Trezeguet's agent Antonio Caliendo was interviewed by Tuttomercatoweb and gave his take on the Frenchman's future.

“We have a meeting scheduled with the Bianconeri next week and we will sit around a table and discuss David's future,” he revealed.

“Anything is possible and he could still stay. In football you don't shout 'goal' until the ball has crossed the line.

“The player still has two years left on his contract and it is up to Juventus to decide what happens next.

“I have heard talk linking Trez to PSG, Bayern Munich, Marseille and also Spanish teams. The problem isn't finding clubs that want David, but working out whether Juve want to sell him and whether his wages will be matched.”

Roma have been tipped to swoop for Trezeguet as they look to strengthen their attacking line.

“Roma have lots of great players,” Caliendo said. “I think that Trez would fit in well there but it all comes down to economic factors at this stage of his career.

“David has won a lot in his career and doesn't have to prove anything to anyone - now it's all about lifestyle choices.”

http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/may28k.html

---------------------

If we get a decent offer (€10m plus) he will be sold imo, it is a shame but I just don't think he is the right sort of player for us anymore with how the team is shaping up. However in a side with gives him regular delivery he is an excellent scorer, I would fear playing against him.

I guess this also means we could potentially be signing another striker.
JuveJay
Trez open to new offers

David Trezeguet has told Juventus he is ready to walk away, but only if it is a proposal that truly intrigues him.

"I have two more years at Juventus. I gave my all for the club,” he told skysports.com.

"I will leave if there is an offer I really like, one which can give me the pleasure of scoring goals."

Trez missed five months of the campaign due to double knee surgery, but since his recovery has barely been used.

The Frenchman was mainly ignored by former Coach Claudio Ranieri and did not make much more of an impact under Ciro Ferrara.

His contract expires in 2011, but the striker is expected to walk away over the next few weeks.

Among the clubs looking to sign Trezeguet are Roma, Monaco, Olympique Marseille and Lyon.

------------------

It looks more likely he will be off.
JuveJay
Trez likely to be traded

Juventus want to use David Trezeguet as bait either for Manchester City midfielder Elano or Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi.

The 31-year-old Frenchman spent most of the season out injured following a double knee operation.

On returning to first team action he argued with Claudio Ranieri and ever since then his future has been in doubt.

Interest in Trezeguet is high and Juventus want to extract more than just cash from any potential deal for him.

“At the moment, I am only thinking about the holidays. However, in a few days I will return to Europe,” Trezeguet told Calciomercato.com.

“As for the rest, we will see later on. Everything will be discussed in due course. We are dealing with a very important situation because I have been in Turin for nine years.

“With regard to me, I know I will present myself for a meeting with Juventus on July 3,” Trezeguet revealed.

“It has not been a positive season for me largely thanks to the knee injury. In the second half of the season, after the operation, I had problems with Ranieri. He did not make me play.

“This bitter season has given me something position, though. I recovered well and inside me there is a great desire to play and score either for Juve or another team that gives me the chance to be a protagonist.”

On being asked about his new boss Ciro Ferrara, Trezeguet replied: “We have known each other for a long time.

“I have been very clear both with him and the directors. We will see what happens in the future,” he concluded.

Elano? No fricking way.

I would take a Trez + cash trade for Rossi any day of the week.

Rossi would be a dream. But I just dont see him fitting into our team with Diego. He is not a goal poacher like Iaquinta or Amauri. However if we can find a way to play Diego, Rossi and Gio together that is one strong offense.

Lyon chase Trezegol

Olympique Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed his wish to replace Karim Benzema with David Trezeguet.

The French side sold their star man to Real Madrid yesterday for £30m and are now looking to Juventus’ bomber as a potential reinforcement to their attacking package.

“I would fancy signing Trezeguet,” noted Aulas.

Juve are more than willing to negotiate and the price tag shouldn’t be a problem as they are set to ask for around £8m. Lyon could also offer the services of Fabio Grosso, who has just recently been linked to the Old Lady.

“Fabio spoke to the Coach about leaving the club and we may let him,” Aulas told Le Progres.

“Losing Benzema was a big blow for us. The Spaniards offered him three times as much so we couldn’t really stop him.”

The former Ligue 1 champions also sold Abdul Kader Keita to Galatasaray for £6m and could use that money to get to Trezegol.

But the Frenchman isn’t their only target as they have also made enquires about Porto’s Lisandro Lopez, Toulouse’s Andre-Pierre Gignac and Nice’s Loïc Rémy.

Secco will only sell Trez abroad

Juventus director of sport Alessio Secco has no intention of selling David Trezeguet to Milan despite reports to the contrary.

Reports suggest Milan have been trying to tempt Juventus into parting with Trezeguet by offering a number of players in exchange.

“Trezeguet is happy to stay. He is working with us. We have never thought about selling him. If he comes to us with an offer we will talk about it,” Secco told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Asked to explain why he has taken that stance, Secco replied: “Because at the end of last season he expressed to us the possibility of finding a different solution.”

Secco then laughed offer rumours suggesting a recent meeting between Trezeguet's agent and Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani meant a deal was in progress.

“They will have spoken about another player. If it depends on us, we will never give away Trezeguet in Italy because he is an important player and we want to keep him.

“If his agent were to bring us an offer from abroad we would evaluate it.”

Asked if Juventus would sign another striker in case of Trezeguet's departure, Secco replied: “In that case yes, but it's useless to talk about hypothetical situations.”

Trez: Juve made me reconsider

David Trezeguet marked his first start of the season with a goal and admits he could reconsider leaving Juventus at the end of the season.

“It's wonderful. Last season I suffered so much with injuries and the decisions that meant I couldn't give my contribution,” he said after the 2-0 victory away to Lazio.

“I am working so hard to get back to my level and I know it is very tough to achieve, but my friends are helping me so much.

“These were my first 90 minutes and I am happy as I got to the end and scored a goal. I hope to continue giving my all to the club and helping the team.”

It was the Frenchman's first goal since February and his first start since April 11, which curiously was also against Lazio, albeit in the Coppa Italia.

Trezeguet had announced he would leave Juve at the end of the season, but the emotional scenes at his stoppage-time goal may well have changed his mind.

“The fact I scored gives me a lot of confidence. We will see further ahead, but when I netted I saw how happy everyone was for me and it was moving.

“We had a great performance tonight and now it's up to our rivals to prove themselves. We signed some players who gave something more to the team.”

He is also targeting Juventus legend Omar Sivori's scoring record of 167 goals.

“Sivori is one of my idols and I am slowly approaching his record, but the important thing is to get fit again and prepare for Tuesday's Champions League game.”

Trezeguet out for a month

Juventus striker David Trezeguet will be out for a month after suffering an injury to his left calf muscle, according to the club's official website.

The Bianconeri's treatment room could do with a revolving door such is the number of players coming and going to see the doctor at the moment.

Claudio Marchisio and Ale Del Piero will be back in time for Sunday's match against Udinese, but Juventus are still without Vincenzo Iaquinta and Momo Sissoko.

Gigi Buffon is also suffering from a meniscus problem in his knee but has vowed to play through the pain barrier until the winter break when he'll go under the knife.

“This morning the French striker had a scan for trauma to the left calf suffered during training yesterday,” read a statement on the club's official website.

The news comes as a real blow to Ciro Ferrara as Trezeguet is Juventus' top scorer this season.

Trez close to Lyon

Juventus striker David Trezeguet is growing closer to a move to Lyon this summer, according to his agent Antonio Caliendo.

The 32-year-old former France international is almost certain to leave Turin at the end of the season after a record breaking nine years with the Bianconeri.

He is the most prolific foreigner goalscorer in their history and his partnership with Alessandro Del Piero is already the stuff of legend.

Trezeguet looked as if he was on his way out of Juventus last summer after a dispute with former boss Claudio Ranieri.

He was flaunted on the market even after Ranieri's dismissal, but Juventus were only prepared to sell Trezeguet to a club willing to offer him favourable terms out of respect for what he has done for the Bianconeri.

However, as plans to rebuild the team this summer begin to take shape, it's clear that Trezeguet will once again be one of the players Juventus look to cash in on.

“I know that Lyon have always liked David,” Caliendo explained.

“Anything is possible, but perhaps this year there are more opportunities,” he concluded.

----------------------

Apparently the reason that Bettega was at the Lyon CL game was because he was negotiating to sell both Trez and Camoranesi to Lyon.

Almost a manifesto of these last ten years. Words screamed in any stadia and in any language all over the world, for 171 times. Because as many have been the goals Trezeguet scored in his 320 presences: a monstrous average, more than a goal each two matches. This would be enough to explain how deep is the sign David left in Juventus history, but it would have been ungenerous reducing all the emotions he gave us to a mere statistics. King David, the Cobra, Trezegol, these are his nicknames. «When he plays Trezeguet always scores», this is the choir the supporters sung for him, summarizing better than any speech the essence of his way of playing soccer: give him the “right” ball and he will transform it into a goal. By any means: by head, right, left, acrobatically, raiding … a huge repertory, which took him to be the most prolific foreign scorer in Juventus history. World Champion with France in ’98, he arrived at Juventus in 2000, during the summer that definitively consecrated him at International level, after the golden goal scored vs. Italy in the European Championship final. But it takes a little for the Italian supporters to forgive him, at least for Juventus supporters: during his first season, although he sometime started from the bench, he scores 15 goals in 32 matches and gains the confidence of the Club, which decides to bet on him for the future. A very apt choice, that David immediately compensate, becoming top scorer with 24 goals (ex aequo with Dario Hubner), in the following championship, crowned by the Shield conquered during the last match, coming back on Inter, on the 5th of May 2002. It’s the first of the four Italian Championships he won with Juventus, in addition to two Italian Super Cups and a Serie B Championship. Yes, because David, in 2006, accepts to play in a lower Championship with Juventus, to take it back to the levels Juventus deserves, obviously by his goals. Right at the very end of that season, like it already happened in the past, it seems that his Torino experience is going to end, but it’s just a moment. His marriage with Juventus has still a lot to give and David stays in bianconero for three years more. In 2007/08 he is vice top scorer in Serie A, with 20 goals, behind Del Piero, then, the injuries cut down his presences, but not his scoring average. With a French passport, but with Argentinean origins, David has always spoken a universal language, the goals’ one, which is everything to him. You can see it by that smile that appears on his face every time he scores, while his eyes looks for mom Beatriz in the gallery, dropping confetti on the stands. Now he will look for her in other stadia, but in the one Juventus is building, the start bringing his name is already ready, because Trezeguet deserves to be among Juventus greatest players of all times. And so merci David, gracias, buena suerte, bonne chance… Juventus will always be part of your history, and you are already part of Juventus legend.

The Frenchman ends a 10-year tenure in Turin and turned down more prestigious clubs in order to move to his wife's home town.

Hercules made the news official this evening and will pay him €1.5m per season on a two-year contract.

Juventus will probably only make an official announcement on Monday, when the stock exchange re-opens.

=( all the best to Trezegol, loved him... tbh with our current weak strike force i dont see Amauri, Quag and Iaquinta goes anywhere close in the amount of goals DP, Trez and Pippo had scored sad.gif

Dear David,

It's time to say goodbye. I lost count of the seasons we played together and the goals that we scored. Certainly, we are the duo who has scored the most in the history of Juventus, even more than Charles and Sivori - two immense champions - and you know well that this is a source of great pride for us both.

How many lineups over the years ended as follows: Del Piero and Trezeguet, Trezeguet and Del Piero. How many victories, how many disappointments (fortunately, not many compared to the satisfactions), for sure: there is no other partner with whom I have played more.

Seventeen goals a season on average, the same as your jersey number: you would say that was enough for six strikers. But for me playing at your side means more than numbers. I think it was an honour to team up on the pitch with one of the greatest strikers in the world, ever.

Now our paths diverge, it happens in football. We said our farewells in the dressing room, but I am pleased to do so publicly also: good luck for your new adventure. We will have many wonderful memories to share, next time we meet.

- Alessandro Del Piero

Wow I missed this. He really is a player I remember in the Juve shirt from so many years back, I saw he scored for Heracles in their win at the weekend. cheers.gif
