David Trezeguet has insisted that he wants to lead Juventus back to the pinnacle of the Italian and European game.
"I have been here for seven years and I have experienced many different things," he told L'Equipe. "But my ambition has not changed" 'I want to regain the Serie A title and the Champions League."
Trezeguet was forced to remain at the club last season following demotion, but there are doubts over his future seeing as his present contract expires in 2008.
Should he not extend that deal this summer then he is likely to be sold, given that the club will not want to run the risk of seeing him leave on a Bosman next year.
"This has been a difficult year, that is true," continued the former Monaco ace. "Now I want to be a part of the club;s new course.
"I am proud to belong to a side with such an important history and in my heart I hope to remain here."
However, Trezeguet has admitted that a decision on his future is dependant on a number of factors and he wants the club to send a clear signal to their players and fans.
"The decision to stay or go does not depend only on me," he added. "Once we secure Serie A promotion, the management will have to clarify the situation with us, the Coach and our supporters.
"I believe Juve must have the ambition of ending next season in the top three positions, even if this might seem difficult now."
Juventus could book their return to the top flight as soon as Sunday if they beat Antonio Conte's revitalised Arezzo side.

Huntelaar looks close to Juve, apparently Alessio Secco met with Ajax officials and offered the player €3m a season and Ajax will close the deal at €18m. It is believed Barcelona were interested in both he an Wesley Sneijder but reportedly a club insider said they were not good enough for Barca next season for the money.
Fiorentina want Marco Marchionni for next season, Juve want €6m.
Fiorentina are also interested in Federico Balzaretti.
Secco met with Viola counterpart Pantaleo Corvino to discuss deals, namely the ownership of Valeri Bojinov (who will go back to Fiorentina) and Manuele Blasi (who will return to Juve) when these deals were spoken about.
Juve want Vincenzo Iaquinta from Udinese and are prepared to offer Michele Paolucci as part of the deal.
It looks like Fiorentina have pipped Juve to the signing of young Czech defender Ondrej Mazuch.
Giandomenico Mesto will join Juve from Reggina once their future is decided, the deal will be around €7m with it likely a Juve youngster will go in part exchange.. This will confirm the stay of Mauro Camoranesi at Juve for next season if the likely sale of Marchionni takes place.
Juve are still pushing for Cristian Chivu but this is unlikely.
Andrea Barzagli still remains first option.
Juve are still trying to conclude a deal for Gabriel Milito from Zaragoza involving Marcelo Zalayeta.
Gigi Buffon saga rumbles on, he has his monthly moan, the papers insist he will join Milan or Inter or it is 50% certain he will stay at Juve. Milan insist they dont want him and Dida has a new contract, Inter say they have Julio Cesar and Buffon knows he will be lynched if he joins Inter.

Gianluigi Buffon will wait to meet with Juventus officials before taking any decisions, confirmed the goalkeeper’s agent.
The world champion has been paired with a summer move and is scheduled to discuss his position shortly, after the Bianconeri secured their return to Serie A with three games to spare.
“We want to wait until we speak with the management, then we will see,” said agent Silvano Martina.
“We have not been called yet, but we expect to meet them soon,” added the World Cup winner’s representative.
“Many things have been written about Buffon’s future and most of them are pure fantasy.
“The truth is that we will wait to speak with Juve, then we will decide,” concluded Martina.
Bianconeri chief Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has also declared that the club has not received any firm offers for Buffon, despite the rumours linking him with both Milan and Inter.
“I have not been contacted, but have only joked with Massimo Moratti and Adriano Galliani during the Lega assemblies.
“How much is Buffon worth? I don’t know because I don’t care about knowing it.”
In the meantime, Buffon stated that any decision he makes will come straight from the heart.
“I always pursue happiness. This season I decided to stay with Juventus in Serie B because I knew I would have been happy to help the club out in a difficult situation,” the former Parma man told La Stampa.
“I follow my heart and instinct, but I have to be given the opportunity of being a part of an ambitious project.
“Most importantly, I want to be serene and free, that is why I don’t consider playing in the Champions League a requirement.
“I will soon meet the management and after a while, I will make my final decision. It will not be a fast decision and I want to assure the fans that nothing is official yet,” concluded Buffon.

Reports in Britain are suggesting that Juventus may beat Rangers in the race to sign Bayern Munich striker Claudio Pizarro.
The Peruvian’s contract with the Bundesliga outfit expires in June and the 28-year-old is set to leave the Allianza Arena on a Bosman after six seasons with the Bavarian outfit.
The Daily Record claims that the player was offered a massive £45,000 a week deal by Rangers after boss Walter Smith spoke to the South American’s agent last week.
However, Juventus are understood to be ready to outbid them by offering £60,000 a week in order to bring Pizarro to the Stadio Olimpico.
The former Werder Bremen man, who would arrive with the added bonus of an Italian passport, has been associated with the Old Lady for the last six months.
Valencia, PSV and Inter are also reportedly keen on the striker which makes a Glasgow switch seem unlikely – even if they are willing to make the Lima-born ace the highest-paid player in their history.

Juventus are eyeing Rafael Marquez of Barcelona as they look to strengthen their squad for next season's Serie A campaign.
The Bianconeri sealed their return to the top flight with three games to spare and are now planning their next moves on the transfer market in the hope of building a competitive side.
Marquez has been included on Didier Deschamps’ wish list for the summer transfer campaign and the Blaugrana defender has stated that he would favour a move to the peninsula.
“After experiences in France and Spain, a new adventure in Serie A would be stimulating,” said the 28-year-old.
The Mexico captain, who would arrive with the added bonus of an EU passport, has not impressed this season and Barcelona are allegedly ready to let him leave for £7m.
Juve have also been paired with Lyon star Florent Malouda, although sporting director Alessio Secco denied that the French international is on his shopping list.
“Malouda is an excellent player and one of the best in his role, but he is not our priority,” said the Juventino.
“Our main target for that department is a central midfielder, not a winger like him,” concluded Secco.

Newly promoted Juventus have reportedly agreed personal terms with Rio Mavuba of Bordeaux.
The Bianconeri are planning to strengthen their squad in view of next season’s Serie A campaign and have targeted the 23-year-old.
The midfielder, who is considered as one of the most promising Ligue 1 stars in circulation, is contracted to Bordeaux until 2009.
However, a report in Le Parisien claims that the Frenchman, who was born on a boat in international waters off the Angolan coast, is on his way to Turin.
The French newspaper reports that the youngster, valued at £7m, has discussed personal terms with the Old Lady – even if Bordeaux have yet to okay the deal.
“Juventus are the club of my dreams, although I would also enjoy playing in a side like Arsenal or Real Madrid,” Mavuba had declared in the past.
Juventus are also being paired with Lyon midfielder Alou Diarra after catching the eye of Bianconeri sporting director Alessio Secco.
However, the World Cup finalist may opt to remain with the French champions seeing that boss Gerard Houllier – whom he had a frosty relationship with – resigned on Friday.
Diarra, just 14 Ligue 1 games this term, only arrived last summer after signing a contract until June 2010.

Juventus Latest In Amauri Chase?
Tuttosport suggest that Juventus could be the latest club to join a serious chase of Palermo striker Amauri.
Juventus have recently achieved promotion to the Serie A and are now in the works of adding new fresh legs to the current squad, as the management look to create a new team strong enough to compete at the top of Serie A.
There is a particularly strong demand for a new proficient striker who can provide strength up front.
A deal for Iaquinta is said to be close and AC Milan striker Alberto Gilardino has been hinted as a possible purchase. However, AC Milan have raised the stake up to 20 million euros, and Juve’s management remain rather cautious, as they don’t want to over-spend on strikers.
The Juve officials now seem set to chase after Palermo’s Amauri.
The Brazilian talent catalyzed Palermo’s early stages of the Serie A season, which saw the Rosaneri battling for the Scudetto. Even though he has suffered from a severe knee injury which kept him on dry dock for quite a few months, the player now seems to have fully recovered and ready to get back to his best.
Meanwhile, Juventus mave have to face competition from Inter in netting Amauri. Coach Roberto Mancini has often made positive remarks about the Palermo forward, who may become one of Inter’s purchases in view of the club’s centenary next year.

Gianluigi Buffon has admitted that his chances of staying at Juventus have risen to 75 per cent. “I am starting to change my mind,” he revealed.
The goalkeeper looked set to quit the Italian giants after helping them back to Serie A, but he’s now claimed that he’s more likely to stay rather than go.
“Things have changed recently,” said Buffon, a reported target for Milan and Real Madrid. “If my chances of remaining were 49 per cent up to 20 days ago, now they are 75 per cent…
“I dream of getting back to winning ways in the future alongside players such as Alessandro Del Piero, Pavel Nedved and David Trezeguet,” added the World Cup winner.
“If I am closer to Juventus it is because I respect this environment and they are the club which represents me the most.
“I’ve had plenty of offers in the past and I could have left if I wanted to.
“I have always fought for the top positions and I was afraid that it would be hard to face a season where we were not protagonists. The club, however, have sent me some important signals.”
Should Buffon commit to Juventus, he would be without Champions League football again. However, he admits watching Milan in the Final on TV is a massive motivating factor.
“I was not envious, but I felt great respect for Milan,” he noted. “They made me understand how important the group is, unity can allow you to achieve important results even when you are not a favourite.
“Their triumph was basically a moral one and I would like to do something similar. If you win but you don’t feel part of a group then you do not feel true happiness in your heart.”
The No 1 was also inevitably questioned about Juve’s coaching situation given that Marcello Lippi seems unwilling to start for another six months.
“I don’t want to be Lippi’s sponsor, but I think he would be the best solution for Juve,” he added. “However, he wants to wait until the situation with his son Davide is resolved.”
Davide Lippi has been caught up in the GEA player agency scandal which was placed under investigation last year.
“I think we must respect his decision, I don’t think he will change his mind,” concluded the Juventino.

French champions Lyon have claimed that Juventus have been in touch regarding a potential swoop for Cris and another unidentified player.
“Juventus contacted Cris and another Lyon player, making them a few offers,” noted President Jean-Michel Aulas.
“However, I have met with Cris and he has told me he wants to stay here. Therefore we will continue talks over his contract extension,” added the French chief whose club have just won a sixth successive Ligue 1 crown.
“Juventus made an enquiry three weeks ago in which they offered a swap deal, but we turned them down. Cris is not for sale and this issue for me is closed.”
It’s understood that the other player targeted was midfielder Alou Diarra who has caught the eye of Bianconeri sporting director Alessio Secco [pictured].
Diarra has had a tough season in Lyon, but may opt to remain after boss Gerard Houllier – whom he had a frosty relationship with – resigned last week.

Juventus are on the verge of signing Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko for £8.5m, reports in Italy claim.
The 22-year-old has been on the club’s wish list for some time as the Bianconeri look to strengthen their squad in view of their return to the top flight.
The young Mali international, who was asked for by previous Coach Didier Deschamps last November, is considered by many as the new Patrick Vieira.
Juventus turned their attention to Sissoko after the Bianconeri missed out on Werder Bremen ace Torsten Frings last month.
Stories in the peninsula suggest that Sissoko has reached an agreement with Juventus, who will now meet Liverpool officials to finalise the move.
The Italian giants are understood to have tabled an offer of just under £9m and the Champions League finalists are ready to do business.
Sissoko, who was born in France, faces stiff competition for a starting shirt at Anfield given the presence of Javier Mascherano, Xabi Alonso and Steven Gerrard in their squad. They have also agreed to sign Brazil U-20 captain Lucas Pezzini in July.

Reports in Spain suggest that Real Zaragoza have turned down an £11.5m offer from Juventus for defender Gabriel Milito.
The Bianconeri are looking to strengthen their defensive department and have eyed the 26-year-old Argentine international, who landed in Spain in 2003.
Newspaper AS reports that Juventus contacted the Liga outfit in the past few weeks, making an initial £8.5m bid, later increased to £11.5m, but it was not enough to convince Zaragoza to let the player leave.
Milito has a £21m release clause in his contract and it seems unlikely that the Spanish club will accept anything less than £15m to even open talks.
Intermediary Jorge Cysterpiller was in Spain last week to meet with President Pero Agapito Iglesias, who made it clear that the offer presented by the newly promoted Italian side was not suitable.
Reports in Italy claim that the player’s agent Eduardo Gamarnik has already agreed terms with Juventus over a five-year contract, while he waits for Zaragoza to give the green light to his departure.
Juve are allegedly keen to close the deal before the player leaves Europe to participate in this summer’s Copa America in Venezuela.
The Bianconeri are expected to present another offer once they confirm the appointment of their new Coach, with Claudio Ranieri the favourite to take the role.

Juventus will hold showdown talks with David Trezeguet this week in an effort to iron out his future.
The striker has just one year left on his Turin contract which means the club must extend that agreement or sell him to rule out the risk of losing him on a free transfer in 2008.
And now that the outfit have appointed Claudio Ranieri as their new boss, the club is ready to hold discussions with key players – starting with the Frenchman.
“We will meet Trezeguet this week in order to discuss our options,” confirmed Juve director general Jean-Claude Blanc.
“We wanted to wait until we chose a new Coach because we wanted to discuss our plans with him first.
“Now that Ranieri is here, we can continue the work on the team which we had already started some weeks ago.”
Should the former Monaco man leave then Juventus have reportedly already got a replacement in mind – Ajax sensation Klaas Jan Huntelaar.
The 23-year-old forward netted 33 goals in the Dutch League last season and followed that up with 23 this term.
Huntelaar first caught the eye of major Italian clubs thanks to his performances in the European Under-21 Championships last summer, where he was voted Player of the Tournament.
Other striking options for the Old Lady remain Vincenzo Iaquinta of Udinese, Milan’s Alberto Gilardino and Rolando Bianchi of Reggina.
Juventus already made three signings in January for next season by netting Ajax’s Zdenek Grygera and Bayern Munich’s Hasan Salihamidzic on Bosman deals.
Genoa defender Domenico Criscito, an Under-21 international, will also be in Turin next season.

Fabio Quagliarella could become Juventus’ next transfer target, according to the latest reports in Italy.
The Sampdoria hitman impressed in Serie A this year by scoring 13 Serie A goals, including several spectacular strikes.
The versatile attacker ended the season with a sensational brace in Italy’s 2-0 win over Lithuania in their Euro 2008 qualifying match on Wednesday, only his third appearance for the Azzurri.
Quagliarella, who is co-owned by Sampdoria and Udinese, was bean heavily linked with Inter over the past few months, but the Nerazzurri decided to turn their attention to Cagliari star David Suazo.
Juventus might now decide to make a move for the 23-year-old, especially if Milan confirm the £17m price tag on Alberto Gilardino’s head.
The Bianconeri are looking to strengthen their striker department seeing as David Trezeguet is yet to renew his deal with the Old Lady, who might decide to cash in on the French international.
New Juve Coach Claudio Ranieri has announced he wants at least four strikers and Quagliarella would add to Alessandro Del Piero, Raffaele Palladino and Marcelo Zalayeta, meeting the tactician’s request.
The Blucerchiato, who is also a reported target for Manchester United, declared that the only thing that matters for him is to be granted continuous playing time.
“I am on holiday from tomorrow and cannot wait to rest. There is time for the transfer market,” said Quagliarella after the victory against Lithuania.
“I am on a co-ownership deal and that may be renewed. The important thing now is for me to play consistently.”

New Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri wants to build his team around Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard - and is ready to bid £12million for him.
The former Blues coach, who signed Lampard from West Ham in 2001, was appointed as Juve coach last week, snubbing interest from Manchester City.
The Turin giants have plenty of cash available to spend after their promotion back to Serie A and the Daily Mirror claims the 'Tinkerman' wants to build his new side around the England star.
Lampard's current contract still has two years to run and it has been claimed he has already turned down an offer of £140,000 a-week from Chelsea and the club are concerned he may leave for nothing in 2009.
There had been fears Lampard would buy out the remaining two years of his deal under new FIFA rules, but as he did not declare his intentions within 15 days of the end of the season, he can no longer do that.
However, it is claimed Ranieri has been given around £70million to spend and is willing to offer £12million for Lampard's services.

However I don't think Juventus will sign any players of that standing in the summer, more likely players with the potential to be of that standing in 2, 3 or even 4 years time.
I also think he would flop in Italy, as I said in the thread in the Chelsea forum that space he has in front of the defence is not as common in Italy as it is in England, Vieira noticed it when he moved to Italy, plus from a technical and tactical point he would have to play more in the sort of role he does for England and less like he would for Chelsea. It takes someone with the ability of a Kaka, Rui Costa, Zidane, Totti etc to be as big a star in Italy as he is in England, players who have different attributes and can create their own chances.

Mauro Camoranesi is unhappy with how he is treated at Juventus and is tempted by Roma, according to the winger’s agent.
The Bianconero, whose current deal expires in 2009, had reiterated in the past few months that he was undecided on his future and the latest talks with the club have not had a positive outcome.
“Things are not okay, we are in total disagreement with Juventus,” said agent Sergio Fortunato.
“The difference between the financial offer and what we are asking for is significant,” added the Argentine-born player’s representative.
“Roma would be an excellent alternative, he can play in all the midfield roles. He would also find three World Cup winning teammates that he has an excellent relationship with, including Francesco Totti.
“The Giallorossi captain had already invited Camoranesi to join Roma last year, but in the end the move failed,” he explained.
Fortunato makes no secret of the fact that his client was expecting something different after he decided to stay with Juve in Serie B.
“Camoranesi is mainly disappointed with the way Juventus are treating him, he doesn’t like it at all. We had already fought with the club last year after the demotion, but the player then agreed to play in the Second Division.
“However, now we believe that the men who accepted to stay in Serie B should receive recognition for their decision,” concluded the agent.

Mauro Camoranesi could leave Juventus and would favour a move to one of Inter, Milan and Roma according to his agent.
The world champion is contracted to the Bianconeri until 2009, but the latest talks with the club to extend his deal have stalled over his wage demands.
“We have had no contact with any other outfits, we are trying to solve the situation here,” explained agent Sergio Fortunato.
“Mauro will consider another option if Juve refuse to give him what he thinks he deserves to earn,” added the player’s representative.
The Bianconero has reiterated in the past few months that the difference between the financial offer and the amount he was asking for is significant.
“If Mauro were to leave, he will only play for one of Inter, Milan and Roma. The Nerazzurri and Coach Roberto Mancini asked for the player last summer,” continued Fortunato.
“At Roma there is a £1.7m salary cap? That is what Mauro earns here at Juve, where his wage is half of what the important players are currently paid,” concluded Fortunato.

Sergio Almiron could be just days away from completing his move from Empoli to Italian giants Juventus.
The switch has been on the cards for some time now and a transfer will reportedly be finalised at some stage on Wednesday.
Empoli sporting director Giuseppe Vitale is set to meet with Juve counterpart Alessio Secco in the middle of the week to complete negotiations.
The midfielder is expected to be signed for around £5m in an agreement which will see Matteo Paro move to Tuscany in a co-ownership deal.

Almiron, born in Santa Fe in November 1980, moved to Italy in 2001 when Udinese swooped while he was with Newell’s Old Boys.

Mauro Camoranesi’s agent has admitted that his client may follow David Trezeguet out of the Juventus door.
The winger is in talks regarding a contract renewal, but an agreement may be difficult to reach given that he wants a significant pay increase to stay on in Turin.
And after David Trezeguet sent the Juventus hierarchy a clear ‘I’m out of here’ signal during his goal celebration on Sunday, a Camoranesi exit may also be on the horizon.
“I was at the stadium with Mauro and when we saw David’s reaction we were both surprised as we didn’t think things were that bad,” said Sergio Fortunato.
“It seemed like David wanted to tell us that we should also go, even if our situation is different from his.
“The club has offered us a pay rise and an extension, but that might not be enough.
“I will meet [general director Jean-Claude] Blanc shortly, but if the numbers don’t change then I think we will need to take a decision.”
Juventus renewed Gianluigi Buffon’s contract last week and are hoping that other key players will follow the goalkeeper’s example, but Fortunato is critical of the club’s attitude.
“They can just say that they hope we will sign a new contract, but Juve need six or seven top-quality players excluding Buffon for next season in Serie A.
“I don’t think Mauro will stay with this contract, especially as he has already received some offers from Italy and from Spain.
“Roma? We certainly hope so as Mauro would like to play there,” concluded Fortunato.

Mauro Camoranesi has moved a step closer to leaving Juventus after crunch contract talks took place on Wednesday.
Juve sporting director Alessio Secco met with the player’s agent this afternoon where an extension was offered until 2009, but his salary demands remain an obstacle.
“I am disappointed and sad,” noted Sergio Fortunato, his representative, to Radio Radio.
“I guess we will now have to find a solution because there is no way Mauro can stay at Juventus under these conditions.
“He wants a three-year contract, but the club have only offered him a £71,000 a year pay rise,” explained the midfielder’s representative.
“This way we cannot sign a new deal – I don’t think it’s fair to make this kind of offer to a world champion. If these are the conditions, the only thing we can do is move to another club.”
Camoranesi currently earns £1.7m a year and wanted a £400,000 increase in an effort to move him in line with some of the club’s top players.
Fortunato had already warned the Old Lady that the winger could leave and would favour a move to one of Inter, Milan and Roma.
Inter boss Roberto Mancini asked for the player last summer, while Lyon and Valencia could also join the race to sign the Argentine-born star.

Juventus striker Marcelo Zalayeta could move to Livorno after President Aldo Spinelli made an official request for the Uruguayan.
The 28-year-old had recently revealed that he was frustrated with his lack of playing time at the Stadio Olimpico and was eager to appear for the first team more regularly.
The international is now being eyed by the Tuscan minnows as they search for a strike-partner to field alongside captain Cristiano Lucarelli, who will seemingly stay despite threatening to leave.
Juventus are reportedly ready to consider the request and might let Zalayeta join the Stadio Picchi outfit on a loan deal, as the player does not seem to be part of new Coach Claudio Ranieri’s plans.
The Bianconero is a reported target for Catania as well, but the Amaranto seem favoured in the race for the Uruguayan.
Zalayeta joined Juventus from Perugia in 2004, but has not been given many chances to shine since then and had declared that he was ready to consider a move.
“I would really like to stay here, but there is not enough space for me,” explained El Panteron, who has also been targeted by UEFA Cup winners Sevilla in the past.
“I would like to play more and with consistency. With my physical structure it isn’t easy to reach fitness if you play every once in a while,” said Zalayeta.

Juventus are keen on securing the services of Lyon midfielder Tiago, who has admitted he would favour a move to Turin.
The Portuguese star recently admitted that his time with the French champions might be near its end and has been paired with both Milan and the Bianconeri.
“Juventus’ offer is very interesting for me, I am fascinated by the Old Lady,” stated the midfielder when questioned about Juve’s interest.
Tiago, who started his career with Sporting Braga before joining Benfica in 2002 and appearing for Chelsea in 2004-05, is highly considered by Coach Claudio Ranieri.
“He is a player that Claudio would want at all costs,” confirmed Ranieri’s assistant Christian Damiano.
Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas has set a £14m price tag on Tiago’s head, but reports suggest he might be willing to reconsider that request if Mauro Camoranesi were to be included as part of the deal.
The winger seems close to leaving Juventus after turning down the club’s proposal of a contract extension, as the Bianconeri failed to meet his wage demands.
David Trezeguet was also paired with a swap deal including Tiago, but Aulas declared that the striker is no longer a primary target for Lyon, who had eyed the Frenchman in the past.
“We already have three top-level forwards, Karim Benzema, Fred and Milan Baros, we don’t need any more,” said the French chief, whose side won a record sixth straight League title this term.

Claudio Ranieri has more power to decide Juventus transfer policy and after Gabriel Milito has requested Juan Roman Riquelme.
Predecessor on the bench Didier Deschamps resigned following a row with director of sport Alessio Secco over the players that were being signed for the return to Serie A.
New Coach Ranieri does not want to be in the same situation and with former member of the "Triade" Roberto Bettega’s consultancy contract not being renewed, he will have more power to dictate the transfer policy.
One of the first names on the list is 28-year-old Argentine creative midfielder Riquelme.
Although still owned by Villarreal, he has spent the last few months in Argentina with his old club Boca Juniors following a row with Coach Mauricio Pellegrini.
He is leading Boca towards Copa Libertadores glory and the loan spell expires on June 30.

We are linked to every Argie now, have we turned into Inter. I only see us buying Milito and that's it, Riquelme is not a Juventus type player.

Juve Close To Van der Vaart, Reveals Nedved
The Czech Republic player declared that the Bianconeri want to have the young Hamburger player take the role of play maker in the team.
Pavel Nedved will probably make many Juventus fans happy with the interview he gave to the German daily newspaper 'Bild', where he revealed the transfer market plans of the Old Lady.
Apparently, the main target is Rafael Van der Vaart, and his transfer to Turin is imminent according to the former Golden Ball winner.
"Juventus is close to Rafael Van der Vaart, they want to hand him the play making duties," revealed Nedved during the interview with 'Bild'.
The 24-year-old Dutch midfielder, who has been extremely inspirational for Hamburger since he joined the German club from Ajax two years ago, is worth 10 million Euros, and the Bianconeri do not want to lose out on this opportunity.
If Van der Vaart joins Juventus, he will be able to face his former ‘enemy’ Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is currently playing with bitter rivals Inter after leaving the Old Lady last season following their demotion to Serie B.

Reports in Italy suggest that Juventus are close to signing Portuguese Under-21 star Vitorino Gabriel Pacheco Antunes.
The 20-year-old defender was one of the protagonists of last season, helping his side Pacos de Ferreira earn their first-ever UEFA Cup qualification thanks to an unexpected sixth-placed finish.
Felipe Scolari also gave him his senior debut in the 1-1 draw in Kuwait and Antunes will be one of the players facing Italy in the Under-21 Olympic Games play-off on Thursday.
The player’s performances have attracted a number of clubs, but Juve seem to be favoured in the race to sign the youngster, who admits that he would favour a move to the Old Lady.
“I would be thrilled with the opportunity if it were given to me. I am ready to take a step up,” Antunes told the Press.
“I will wait for the end of the tournament to clarify the details, then I hope I will be able to start this adventure.”
Antunes is also a reported target for Vicenza, but they consider the player’s £1.4m price excessive and have offered Juventus a co-ownership deal, which the Bianconeri are allegedly taking into consideration.

President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli insists that Juventus will do all they can to keep striker David Trezeguet at the club.
The Frenchman is contracted to the Old Lady until 2008, but did make it clear that he was heading out of the club after scoring in the last match of the season against Spezia.
However, the Turin giants are hopeful that they can convince the forward to accept their new contract offer.
“We want to keep him here and I believe we can find an agreement,” said Cobolli Gigli on Tuesday afternoon.
“Obviously we need the player to show his availability to discuss things with us. Nevertheless, our objective is to keep him.”
Reports suggest that the former Monaco man is a serious transfer target for Valencia, whose sporting director Amedeo Carboni allegedly contacted Trezeguet’s representatives recently.
“We are doing all we can to solve this issue and this is also true for Mauro Camoranesi, whose future will be clear in the next three or four weeks,” added the Bianconeri chief.
Cobolli Gigli also confirmed reports that Empoli star Sergio Almiron is close to joining the Bianconeri after Vincenzo Iaquinta completed his move today.
“I hope we will be able to officially announce his capture at some stage next week,” continued the official.
In the meantime, Juventus have today received a £72m cash boost via an increase in capital which had been voted for in April.
“We are pleased with this fact,” noted the President. “It is vital for us because it allows us to make important plans for our transfer campaign.”
