Right, I feel its time for a new topic...

Did anybody cacth neighbours today? LAUGH! Only kidding people...

My question relates to Dwight Yorkes interview when he left the a-league. ( Please see link below to view the interview. ) He said there is ability in the younger players in the a-league, but they lack 'Professionalism'? Basically he thought they didnt have the right attitude. Do you agree?

What young players do you think have shone last season and who do you expect to see break on to the scene this season?

This question sort of relates to recent debates about how much homegrown quality is being produced for the a-league? What do you think of the homegrown talent or lack of? Is enough effort being done to produce decent youngsters?

Who is the next Harry Kewell or Tim Cahill?

What would Dwight Yorke know about Professionalism? LOL I saw him a few times and he was with hookers at Star City Casino. I wouldnt care what he thinks but then again he still has the bitter taste in his mouth after Sydney FC got rid of him.

In V2 (Last Season), Dario Vidosic was a standout and he has now joined Nurnberg FC in Germany. We saw glimpses of potential in Nathan Burns and Bruce Djite from Adelaide United but they should do better this season. Adrian Leijer from Melbourne Victory is a future Australian Centreback, he had a really good season. NIck Topor-Stanley (The Hyphenator) is probably the best leftback in the league and I can't believe he's leaving Sydney FC for the shittest team Perth Glory. These were the young players who were great last season, theres probably more but I cant think of them off the top of my head.

This coming season (V3), Queensland Roar have signed plenty of young players Robbie Kruse, Taj Minniecon, Mitch Nicholls, Matthew Grossman, so hopefully they standout this season. The Phoenix have Costa Barboureses this kid was tearing it up in all his age groups so cant wait to see him in action. Perth Glory have signed a few youngsters cant remember their names.

The league can produce the 'next Harry Kewell or Tim Cahill' but we have the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) where the best athletes in every sport go (Thats why we do so well in Olympics and own you guys in the Commonwealth games). The AIS is the one who produced most of our current National team players so we dont really have to worry about the league not producing. However, the players from the AIS are now joining the A-league which is even better for their development.

We really need a youth league because the a-league doesnt have that much youth in it at all but teams have to have 2 under 21 players.

Perth have signed Anthony Downey via the AIS. Got loads of pace and likes to attack down the wing, apparently. Also Anthony Danze who has a bit of experience now, he spent 2 years with Crystal Palace and has been performing at a good standard in the Perth leagues.

Ernie Merrick has signed Evan Berger. Merrick is normally an excellent judge of young talent and his current squad is the best evidence of that. A few players who have come from states leagues such as Adrian Leijer, Rodrigo Vargas, Daniel Piorkowski and have become pivital parts of an excellent setup. So watch out for Berger, I think he could be something special.

I think Bruce Djite is a little overrated. He finds the ball a bit but doesnt score enough but that will probably come with more game time which I cant see him getting at Adelaide this coming season. Burns is very lively and probably has a European career ahead of him should his form continue through to V3.

I think you will be quite suprised with Costa Barbarouses. He will struggle to adapt to the league with such a big step up from the current leagues his playing in. If he can find his feet though he has all the attributes to become a star player.

Ben Griffin of Queensland Roar was good towards the end of last season. He slipped under the radar with all the hype surrounding Djite, Burns and others. I suppose its a good thing but I think he will develop into a good young player. Nothing special and not much flair but solid. His good in the air and on the ball. He reads the play well and doesnt mind getting down the right if need be.
