Lapo Elkann Slams ‘Bloodcurdling’ Juventus
Elkann has urged the stuttering Bianconeri to rediscover their fighting spirit…Lapo Elkann has admitted that Juventus’ latest performances have left him bewildered and would not have sit well with his late grandfather Gianni Agnelli, the former Bianconeri President.
Juve crashed out of the Champions League last week after being thrashed 4-1 by Bayern Munich at home and went on to lose 3-1 to Bari in Serie A action on Saturday night.
“The last two games have been bloodcurdling,” Elkann told Sky Tg24.
“My grandfather would have liked the Juventus who defeated Inter. But he would not have liked the Juve we saw against Bayern nor the one we saw in Bari.
“Juve have a great history and must start over accordingly.”
The Old Lady directors have insisted that boss Ciro Ferrara will stay at the helm until the end of the season and Elkann also seemed to point the finger at the players.
“It’s high time the players get a move on,” he said.
“Juve are not a small team, they have a history. The players are not honouring this history and are not giving their best. This is unacceptable.
“I would like for them to take a cold shower in the locker room. I would like to see a combative and determined side. It’s unacceptable to carry on like this.”
