Grosso in, Molinaro out (Napoli €4m)?

Source?

That would be a dream.

Seems to be something in it. One soruce is Tuttosport, but Napoli have enquired about Molinaro before and the fact he didn't play against Chievo added to it. Grosso is definitely wanted, he has also been left out of Lyon's squad with 'illness'.
JuveJay
Do you know who Gianni Di Marzio is Alex? He is basically inside at Napoli, ex-coach etc, he reckons a deal will be made official on thursday or friday. Heard De Ceglie may be involved instead of Molinaro dry.gif

Juve close in on Grosso

Juventus are reportedly very close to signing Fabio Grosso from Olympique Lyonnais after the World Cup winner leapfrogged Marcio Rafinha.

The Bianconeri have hinted they are looking for a new left-back to strengthen the squad and these two names have repeatedly been brought up.

While Rafinha was the primary target, it is now claimed that the £6m asking price by Schalke 04 has scared Juve away.

Instead, Grosso would be available for around £2m and he’d relish a return to Serie A in a World Cup year.

Lyon have given signs they are ready to make the deal, as the Italian was left out of their squad for the Champions League preliminary round.

He is therefore not cup-tied and can happily be included in the Bianconeri side for this competition.

This means that on Thursday the two clubs can discuss the transfer when they meet up for the Champions League group phase draw.

Curiously, the reason Lyon are prepared to release Grosso is the purchase of new man Aly Cissokho – whose move to Milan collapsed when he failed a medical due to issues with his teeth.

Juve are not scared of paying £6m for Rafinha lol, they just don't seem to be going for another right back. It looks like a left back will be sold for Grosso. A Maggio for De Ceglie swap with Napoli has also been mentioned. I like Maggio a lot, but it's getting complicated now.

Edison Cavani and Luis Fabiano both suggest they would like a move to Juve, in the shape of their agent and themselves respectively. I guess with Trezeguet on the way out we will hear quite a few striker links.
JuveJay
Cobolli gives a clear indication that Juve will move for Giuseppe Rossi in 2010: http://www.football-italia.net/sep10i.html

He has always been my choice to replace Trez, different sort of player but would suit our current style better in my opinion. Others will be after him and Villarreal will want at least €20m, but that is the sort of player we need to look at to continually improve.

Juventus Keep Tabs On Uruguayan Starlet Matias Aguirregaray

Juventus have joined the race to sign Penarol defender Matias Aguirregaray.

According to Tuttosport, the Bianconeri have been following the Uruguayan under-20 international for some time now. It is said the right-back, who can also adapt to play in midfield and has been hailed as the 'new Cafu', has been added to the clubs' transfer hitlist on Alessio Secco's orders.

The report suggests that Bianconeri observers have been following his progress in the under-20 World Cup, and they have reported back with positive news. Juve are considering the youngster as the ideal replacement for Zedenek Grygera and Jonathan Zebina in the future.

Hia agent is former Old Lady stopper Paolo Montero and voices in Turin claim a €5million bid will suffice to lure Aguirregaray to Vinovo.

Despite the report, Juventus have not confirmed an interest in the defender.

Unless he has an EU passport we won't be signing any more south Americans, plus we don't even play the one we did sign!

Juve track the 'new Drogba'

Just over 16 years after signing a young Ale Del Piero from Padova, Juventus are back, this time to look at Adam Diakité, the 'new Didier Drogba'.

Diakité is a 16-year-old striker from the Ivory Coast, but in a month's time he will become an Italian citizen.

He has a very powerful presence up front and is already the subject of interest from Manchester City.

Diakité has just put pen to paper on a three-year contract with Padova, putting an end to the fear that he would 'do a Macheda' and sign for an English club for free.

However, Padova are aware that they cannot expect to hold on to Diakité for much longer.

Tuttosport understands that talks are already underway between Padova and Juventus.

Relations between the two clubs have been very strong ever since the time of the Del Piero transfer.

They have done a lot of business in the past, rubberstamping deals for Angelo Di Livio and Luigi Sartor among others.

Juventus have tracked Diakité for a year and a half and their interest has intensified to such an extent that they have signed an option to sign him in the future.

Diakité will remain with Padova until the end of the season, but if in June they decide to sell him, Juventus will get first refusal.

Caceres.

It's just a rumour, and it doesn't make any sense considering we have three Italian international central defenders, another who is on loan from Barcelona and a very promising kid as a 5th, oh and Grygera who fills in as a 6th. Not to mention the fact Campbell is finished.

Quite a few rightbacks linked in the past couple of days:

Bacary Sagna, Arsenal (Tuttosport), for £16m, he is the right level of player for this position but Arsenal are surely not going to let him go, Tuttosport is usually a load of shit.

Jerome Boateng, Hamburg (Tuttosport), alternative to Sagna.

Andreas Beck, Hoffenheim (Tuttosport), alternative to Sagna.

Juan Camilo Zuniga, Napoli (Tuttosport), swap with Cristian Molinaro who is from Campania.

Fanni could join Juve, says agent

The agent of Rennes and France international right-back Rod Fanni says his client could join Juventus in the future although negotiations will be tough.

Juventus director of sport Alessio Secco was at the Stade de France on Wednesday to take a closer look at Fanni during a World Cup qualifier with Austria.

However, Didier Six, the player's agent, believes a deal won't happen in January and warns that Juventus will face serious competition for his client.

“I am aware of Juventus' interest, and even if the Italian media are speaking about it purely after seeing the presence of Alessio Secco at the France-Austria game, we are not talking about a novelty,” Six told TuttoMercatoWeb.

“However, that said I have not had any direct contact with the Bianconeri. Moreover I think it would be very difficult to underwrite a deal.

“English and Spanish clubs also like the player. If he were to leave I don't think that it could happen in the next transfer session, and, in any case, Rennes are one of the more financially solid teams in the French championship.

“Dealing with them is not a simple piece of business,” Fanni concluded.

----------------

Can't go wrong with a bit of Fanni, that's what I always say. Emanuel Eboue is another right back option mentioned, big meh.

In the midfield department Moussa Sissoko is mentioned again, I think he played in the France game. Obviously being called Sissoko is an advantage to this rumour, but he is very good.

Up front Alain-Pierre Gignac has been linked to replace Trezeguet. You guessed it, he was in the France side as well.
JuveJay
We have been linked to every right back 25 or under in the world, I wouldn't worry about it.
JuveJay
Have a guess which position it looks like we might need new players come January? All these linked in recent days:

Central defender
Simon Kjaer (Palermo)
Serdar Tasci (Stuttgart)
Rod Fanni (Rennes)

Right back
Emanuel Eboué (Arsenal)
Bacary Sagna (Arsenal)
Rafinha (Schalke)
Valon Behrami (West Ham Utd)
Pablo Zabaleta (Man City)
Juan Zuniga (Napoli)
Gregory van der Wiel (Ajax)
Andreas Beck (Hoffenheim)
Jerome Boateng (Hamburg)
Marco Motta (Roma)

Striker
Neymar (Santos)
Alan Kardec (Vasco da Gama)
Dominic Adiyiah (Fredrikstad)
Giuseppe Rossi (Villarreal)
Edin Dzeko (Wolfsburg)

Both have been linked, obviously we aren't going to try and sign both. Sagna is proven class, but I can't see him wanting to leave Arsenal or Arsenal letting him go. Eboué would probably be a bad buy.

Several can be ruled out through lack of a non-EU space.

Depends if we let someone go or not, but we overspent slightly on our season budget with Melo so it will be no big signing anyway.

Juve scout Cesena’s Schelotto

Juventus have developed something of an obsession with Cesena’s young winger Ezequiel Schelotto, according to Tuttosport.

Mauro Sandreani, one of Juventus’ talent spotters, has recently been to see him and was so impressed he advised chief scout Renzo Castagnini to do the same.

The Bianconeri have a number of scouts around the world who will often go and watch the same player in order to compile a well-rounded and objective report.

Castagnini is usually the last to go, as he gives the final and most authoritative word to Juventus director of sport Alessio Secco to try and sign the player.

Apparently, the fact Castagnini has been to see Schelotto so quickly gives an impression of just how highly Juventus rate him.

The Argentinian, who has an Italian passport and is also part-owned by Atalanta, has now been watched five times and Secco is about to start negotiations.

Sitting down with two clubs somewhat complicates matters, but Tuttosport understands Juventus feel it will be worth it in the long run.

http://www.football-italia.net/nov12i.html

-----------------------

Sounds like another Mauro Camoranesi, Italo-Argentina winger playing for a small team. If he is anything as good then sign him up, I haven't seen him play for Cesena so far so can't comment.

Recent rumours:

Javier Mascherano - the rumour won't go away despite the fact midfield is the strongest area of the team, seems unlikely still.

Andrea Ranocchia - young Bari defender who is owned by Genoa, I think there is something in this and expect the board to look at him for thr future.

Simon Kjaer - this rumour won't go away, he is a possibility but is also wanted by big PL teams.

Goran Pandev - as far as I am concerned he has already signed for Inter, don't be surprised to see him there. Good player but a bit of a tosser, I think he would be better at Interello.

Antonio Candreva - really only linked because he is Italian and just debuted for Italy, and he is another creative midfielder of which we already have enough.

Neymar - the Brazilian wonderkid has been linked by virtue of Juve doing many scouting trips to Brazil to watch different players, but I don't think we will pay what they want for someone so young, he will go elsewhere. He is also very slight and I don't think he would fit in, but you never know.

Secco: Dominguez offered to Juve / He admits interest in Ranocchia

Juventus director of sport Alessio Secco admits the Turin giants have been offered Rubin Kazan striker Alejandro Dominguez.

The 28-year-old Argentinian, who scored against Inter in the Champions League in September, is out of contract in January.

Speaking to Tuttosport, Secco said: “They have offered us Dominguez, I don't deny it. He possesses interesting qualities.

“His contract expires in January, but we have to understand what our team's 'physiognomy' will be.”

Secco then reflected upon reports claiming Juventus are trying to buy Genoa starlet Andrea Ranocchia, who has been a revelation on loan at Bari.

“He is a good player. I don't deny it. Young. Powerful. In the full bloom of growth, but he only has 10 games in Serie A under his belt.

“We are following him, just as we are following other youngsters. We are now in the scouting phase. What's the hurry?”

Finally, Secco gave an update on the future of Juventus legend David Trezeguet who has hinted that he might leave the club.

“Like I said in Seville, the day of the interview in which he announced his 'divorce', I am still of the opinion that for David it's indispensable to wait until the end of the season.

“As for us, it's just important that we have clear ideas on the present. And the facts are showing a professionalism and an attachment to the shirt that is far from the ordinary,”
Secco concluded.

----------------------

I like Dominguez but there really is no space for him, and he is too old.

Ranocchia looks like a potentially excellent signing right now, both he and Bonucci, but things can change quickly with young players so the board have to look at things sensibly.

Sagna and Neymar have both been denied.

Tiberio Guarente, the Atalanta midfielder, has been linked the last few days. I like him, but how many midfielders do we need.
