Catania midfielder Pablo Alvarez had a terrifying experience last night when he and his nine-month old child were kidnapped.
The Argentine is on loan to Rosario Central for this season and was snatched near his mother’s house in Buenos Aires.
Two men bundled them into a car and held a gun to his baby daughter’s head. He was beaten and robbed of money and a gold ring during the three-hour ordeal.
“The kidnapping was witnessed by Pablo’s wife, who was taken ill due to the shock,” reported a local newspaper.
Catania fans were worried at the news and the club moved to reassure them that Alvarez was safe.
“We contacted him immediately and thankfully Pablo is OK,” explained general manager Pietro Lo Monaco.
“He was the one to reassure us and thank everyone for their solidarity. Now the lad is relaxed.”

Glad he was ok, what a nasty experience. He lives in Sicily no problem and then goes home and becomes a victim of crime lol, I think I'd rather Palermo than Buenos Aires tbh.
