Official: Napoli sign Ruiz
Napoli have announced that they have completed the signing of Espanyol centre-back Victor Ruiz.
The 21-year-old centre-back joins on loan until the end of the season.
He will then sign on a permanent basis in June, putting pen to paper on a four-year deal.
Jesus Datolo, the Napoli midfielder who has been on loan with Espanyol, will now sign outright for the Spanish club.
Ruiz was in Italy today to take care of the paperwork.
He will return to Barcelona and hold a Press Conference to bid farewell to Espanyol.

Don't know much about him, anyone?

a very important win for Napoli
now they play Milan next week keepin the 3 points gap , if they can come back with a win or a draw then it will be huge turning point in the scudetto race
Napoli lacked pace today because of Lavezzi's absence and Cavani became nervous after missing the penalty

Yeah, that was a head scratcher. He did not hesitate to give a penalty in the first half when the player's shorts (I think it was the shorts - the replay angle was awful) were pulled. How the hell did he ignore this.

The ref had an even game in most decisions, he did give some things Napoli's way but on match changing decisions the big ones he was overly biased and for the away side which makes no sense. If it had been 1 or 2 decisions I would not have thought much of it but when he booked Hamsik because one of his team mates got kneed in the face

then that non pen no decision.
Have even more respect for Napoli now after pulling off a result despite a shocking refereeing display. Disappointing to see Inter only 5 points adrift especially after that shocking decision in their game, but maybe Napoli have enough fight to stay in this and fend off Inter. Milan seem to be too inconsistent right now to stay up there and it could well be only a matter of time before they slip into 2nd/3rd.

Finally watched highlights of the Napoli Lazio game, what a end to end game, with Italian commentary on as well it was extra exciting. It seemed really messy at times, like how Mauri just ran right through the entire Napoli team for the first goal, and everyone seems to have long hair in the Serie A.

Me too. De Laurentiis is a great owner. As far as owners go, I haven't seen one in any sport who I appreciate more than him. His lines are hilarious, and he says some controversial things, but what he says get through to people, and work. Obviously his talent as a director.
Calling out Villarreal as being paid off to play helped encourage his side to play serious for 90 minutes. It was probably false, but it worked.

Novara 1-0 Napoli at 70', Radovanovic with a great goal from a free kick for Novara.

It's pretty clear that Napoli are having a lot of problems coping with the extra workload of playing in the Champions League, their squad isn't deep enough to be able to rotate and have fresh players for both. But this is what makes the Scudetto so difficult to win, the small teams don't care if their games against the big clubs are boring, they go for the points, Novara have been frustrating Napoli all day with their 5 men at the back. Ibra eats the small clubs for breakfast and that's why he wins championships.
JuveJay
Dec 11 2011, 09:25 PM
It was a nice freekick from Radovanovic, Napoli aren't going to be challenging for the scudetto this season. Like you say, they just don't have the squad. They really need to make the CL spots though, and that looks difficult even now, considering there are only three.

Update, Dzemaili scores for Napoli, Novara started throwing too many men forward trying to find the second, and got caught short on the counterattack. I wouldn't put it past them to get a winner in Napoli Time, although Cavani is on the bench now.
