Ravenna have asked for tomorrow’s game with Foggia to be postponed after striker Brian Filipi was killed in a traffic accident.
The 20-year-old Albanian was walking alongside an unnamed teammate in Cervia when he was hit by a car travelling well above the speed limit.
The vehicle then crashed into a group of parked cars, but Filipi died in hospital from his injuries.
“I felt the wing-mirror graze me and saw Brian fly through the air,” explained the traumatised teammate.
Ravenna’s squad has been given time off from training until Tuesday and asked for tomorrow’s Lega Pro match with Foggia to be postponed.
“Until that day, the Coach and players will not be speaking to the media,” read a statement.
