The League's disciplinary commissioner has fined Juventus, Inter, Roma and Lazio after a fiery weekend in Serie A.

The Bianconeri were in trouble last week when a section of their fans sang distasteful chants about Mario Balotelli.

Those chants were heard again during Saturday's Derby d'Italia, prompting the League's disciplinary commissioner to fine Juventus another €25,000.

Inter weren't beyond reproach either, getting a €15,000 fine after a number of their supporters let off flares and paper bombs at the Olimpico.

Roma and Lazio were punished much more severely for the same offence after the actions of fans in the Tribuna Tevere led to the Derby della Capitolina being suspended for eight minutes in the first half.

Both teams will have to pay €40,000 each.

The commissioner's work was done there either, as he dolled out bans for various players.

Antonio Di Natale and Cristiano Lucarelli have been banned for two matches while Felipe Melo, Walter Samuel, Sulley Muntari and a whole host of others will miss next weekend's round of games.

wow really? This seems like a load of shit to me. Fining the clubs because their fans are making chants? While we're at it lets put up some "be quiet" signs at all the stadiums.

Crock of shit, Juve fans said nothing racist and said nothing at all about Balotelli until he started acting a prick. He should be banned from calcio.
Romanista
lol you lot were chanting Balotelli chants an hour before the game
JuveJay
Yeah but who the fuck is watching the game an hour before? If the fans shout outside the ground is that worth a fine too? How about at home in their garden? Perhaps if they just think it?

If anyone saw the Rome derby, there were massive bangs every 30 seconds or so, which I'm sure was a distraction to the players on the pitch, and it's obvious why the ref stopped the match. If one of the teams had scored, who's to say one of the firecrackers or whatever they were wouldn't have been thrown onto the pitch?

And TBH, there's no reason to be singing about Balotelli in a match he wasn't involved in in any way. There are other more annoying players in calcio, Antonio Cassano to name one, but Juve fans don't chant about him when they're playing Siena for instance. While the chants aren't racist in themselves, it's hard to argue that they aren't racially motivated.

players should be gettin used to it by now, im sorry but it was stupid to stop the match for 10 min
its always been that way so why take an action now.

I don't believe they are racially motivated as he has all sorts of personality disorders, but being black it certainly fuels the comments made by those ignorant ultras. A lot of Juve fans want Cassano at the club and think he will join in the future, so he never gets stick, only once when he played for Roma.
