Juventus are ready to announce the sensational return of Roberto Bettega as a director at the club.

Bettega was a member of the infamous Triad, but emerged from the 2006 Calciopoli scandal largely unscathed.

He was kept on at the club for the remainder of his contract, only for the board to decide not to renew it at the end of Juventus's first season in Serie B back in 2007.

The decision drew criticism from the fans who felt Bettega had been treated unfairly by the new board, which, they allege, didn't understand his importance to the club.

Bettega made 326 appearances for Juventus between 1970 and 1983, scoring 129 goals.

His re-entry is a stunning u-turn by the board, which now really has need of his expertise, especially in the transfer market.

While his role has yet to be defined, it's thought he will give technical support both to Ciro Ferrara and Alessio Secco, the much-criticised 38-year-old director of sport.

The board's decision is thought to have been influenced by events last month when a court in Turin absolved Bettega and Juventus of “administrative doping” under the Triad.
Well, at least they'll have one competent director now...

Great news. I still remember how he was in tears when he was forced to leave, he was the only one from the Triad wholly innocent and naive enough to not know about the system. Great man and Juve legend, good to have him back cheers.gif

I forgot all about this hahaha.gif hahaha.gif

Bettega was pissed because the two dick Parma directors in front of him were shouting shit all through the game about the referee and presumably Juve, then turned round and wanted to shake his hand afterwards laugh.gif

Look at Blanc shitting himself, get that pussy out of here. Even Secco looks like he can handle a bit of the rough stuff.

Great to have Bettega back. People use the term legend a lot, but this guy is Juve through and through and is an icon.

Bettega: 'Juve don't need new buys'

Juventus vice-general manager Roberto Bettega feels the only problem is down to injuries, but they won't go back on the market.

“The team has ups and downs, runs into difficulties and a great deal of it is down to the injuries. Chievo scored with the only shot on goal today,” said Bettega after a 1-0 loss at the Bentegodi.

“Milan emerged from their supposed crisis via faith and the unity of the squad. We have a very important tour de force over the next few weeks and hope to have some key players back who can unite their physicality with quality.”

Transfer reports suggest the Bianconeri will sign either Antonio Candreva or Real Madrid's Gago, but the director rules that out.

“I don't think there will be any big buys, as we believe that we have strong players in the squad now.

“Chievo were more physical today and played well in the air, that's how they won the match.

“In all honesty, this was an ugly game of football from both sides. Chievo were aware of their physical strength and the state of the pitch, so they based the performance on these elements.”

Juve have amassed just 21 points in the last 16 Serie A rounds and if the table were to be drawn up on that period, they'd be in 14th place.

“I look at the full season. It's true we haven't done as well recently, but why did we do better than anyone else in the first month? In Week 7 we were top of the table, because we had the entire squad at our disposal.

“It's easy to talk sitting at a desk looking at a monitor. You read football with your eyes and not through a block of statistics.”

-------------

I'm sorry, injuries can only be part of the problem. Perhaps if we have everyone fit that superior quality would cover inadequate coaching. That is hardly the mark of a good coach. When things get tough we fall to pieces? Pathetic. We will be in 10th place by the time our injured players are back.

Bettega thinks to the future

Juventus vice-general manager Roberto Bettega has revealed that he already has the future of the club in mind.

The Bianconeri lost 1-0 to Sampdoria on Sunday after Antonio Cassano forced a howler out of Antonio Chimenti.

Juventus now haven't won for three matches and currently lie sixth in Serie A with nine games left this season.

“Every game is a story in itself, but the hope is always fourth place,” Bettega explained.

“The table is tight and we'll try to finish in the top four. It's our objective. But it would be wrong not to think already to the future.

“Right now I cannot name any names, but in my head there is the idea of a new Juve.

“Sure, I will speak with Zaccheroni for the good of Juventus in the last nine games of the season.

“But Alberto will understand that I have to think about the future of this team,” Bettega concluded.

Good! I trust Bettegol more than anyone else at the club.

He's been suspended until April 20th for abusing the referees at half time on Sunday.

Calciopoli II!!!!

On his way out?

Apparently he doesn't agree with the direction our rookie board and directors are going. In short, they are clueless.

He's gone. Hopefully he stays close to the club in some unofficial capacity, he has a lot to bring.
