Unavailable players: Bonera, Oddo, Thiago Silva, Onyewu, Di Gennaro.
La Gazzetta reckons that Kala will start alongside Nesta. Rather have Favalli in there, tbh.
Not the easiest way to end the first half of the season. Wouldn't surprise me if it ended as a draw.

Yeah it is insane even across Europe, I was just thinking earlier if this would be on as my auntie was saying the snow was bad. In Tuscany lol, it's hilarious. She hasn't seen anything like it for a long time.

Apparently going to be replayed sometime in January. I kept wondering why they were showing short films after another on RAI.

Do you know how much snow they have in Siena Jay?
JuveJay
Dec 19 2009, 09:39 PM

That's the piazza today. They don't live exactly in Siena itself but it snowed for about a day solid, a few inches.
Tobinho
Dec 19 2009, 09:41 PM
Thanks. Love that piazza.

It was clearly possible to play then, I guess Tuscans aren't used to snow so it would have been dangerous.

It seems a case of people thinking it wouldn't be bad enough, as you say, they don't get it too often. Usually only a light dusting in January at worst. Pretty amazing to see some of the pictures actually.

Seems the officials were more worried about the ice and fan safety, as it is still freezing and very slippy. Weird.

Looks like they thought it'd be unfair to the supporters if those matches were played behind closed doors.

23 inches of snow in Philly and the NFL game is okay to go ahead. Useless Tuscans.

^ Funnily enough the match in Livorno was played, I can't imagine that one part of Toscana got hit by significantly more snow than the other...?

The issue though in Firenze was that the stands were covered in snow and ice, they said the pitch was actually fine. Livorno's stadium is open air though as well so I'm not sure what the difference was.

Dec 24 2009, 08:46 PM
All the called-off matches were because of the ice in the stands, which was thought to be dangerous for the supporters, not due to pitch conditions. And officials did not want them to be played behind closed doors.

Perhaps he let play continue because there was yet another incompetent blind ref moment and did not see the foul?
It appears that just a few players played well. Flamini seemed to make a difference after he came on. Perhaps that will prompt Leo to play him some more.

Either way it is good Milan won, it puts pressure on Inter, even if I'm not certain Milan have it in them to sustain a strong challenge the whole way. They will need Ronaldinho to keep notching up the assists.

Not quite:
2 vs Udinese
1 vs Man Utd and 1 goal
1 vs Bari
2 vs Fiorentina
extremely impressive though. He did play big roles in two other goals, Pato scored against Bari after Ronaldinho's shot was saved and against Udinese Ronaldinho's cross was flicked on to Huntelaar who scored. He's basically made or scored every goal that Milan have scored in those 4 games, which are the only 4 games since Milan went through a bad patch of form. Completely reliant on Ronaldinho at the moment.

Feb 25 2010, 04:29 AM
It's nice that he's producing but I hate it when we're reliant on one player. When he loses form, we tend to get lost a bit. We went through that too many times when Kaká was around.
