Claudio Ranieri believes he would have been sacked by now if he were responsible for the same string of results as Ciro Ferrara at Juventus.
The Bianconeri fired Ranieri with just two games remaining last season after he notched up five draws in a row and no wins in seven games.
Ferrara was brought in as his replacement on a caretaker basis, but got the job permanently later in the summer to many people's surprise.
The rookie trainer has now suffered five defeats in his last six games and while there are rumours that Juventus are sounding out possible replacements, the club insists Ferrara has its full backing.
“Oh, If I had met with these difficulties…” Ranieri wondered bitterly after Roma's 2-0 victory over Parma.
“The first year after our return to Serie A we finished third, then second the following season and we qualified for the second round of the Champions League with two games to spare and I don't remember an investment of €50m for two players…
“If I were on the bench I would have been sacked in the first friendly,” he concluded.
