he wasn't exactly a big success @Chelsea, why would Juve want him?
QUOTE
Juventus are contemplating the idea of bringing in Luiz Felipe Scolari as coach according to a report in
Tuttosport, despite the club making several denials that current boss Ciro Ferrara would be axed.
The report claims Roberto Bettega's return as vice general director at the club could bring in a series of changes to reverse the slide and engage positive thinking in the squad.
Scolari is currently at Uzbekistan side Budnyodkor, but the former Chelsea coach would be tempted by a decent offer. The idea would be to bring him in until the end of the season before offering a permanent deal

If Ferrara doesn't get the results in 2010 (as I expect) then we have to be sure we get the right guy. Scolari's failure at Chelsea doesn't mean he would necessarily fail elsewhere but like anything it's a gamble, we have to get it right off the pitch first so the guys on the pitch know what they are doing.

I don't know, you can't really tell as Italy is such a tactical league but he has a great pedigree and seems to motivate players well and knows the game.
I think at Juve there is a real problem in terms of inexperience with Ferrara, he doesn't know how to use Melo and Diego best, and the strikers are often isolated. Defensively it is just horrible.
Hiddink seems to have a magic touch wherever he goes so hopefully it is true, there aren't many better coaches in circulation. The problem is a lot of the better Italian ones have gone abroad for now.

Report: Hiddink already in Italy There are unconfirmed reports that Guus Hiddink has been spotted on Italian soil, fuelling speculation he’ll replace Ciro Ferrara at Juventus.
The current Russia manager has been pinpointed as the successor to Ferrara following the costly Champions League elimination.
Russian newspapers claim the club has offered £8m per season to walk away from his current job, while according to Tuttosport Hiddink is already in Italy.
Reports suggest the Dutchman was spotted at Milan’s Malpensa airport in the last few hours and went on to a meeting with the Bianconeri directors.
If Juventus lose in Parma on Wednesday, then Ferrara is likely to be axed with immediate effect, bringing in Hiddink ahead of the crunch showdown with Milan next weekend.
However, if Hiddink is not able to free himself from Russia that quickly, then a stop-gap measure could be introduced to see out the season.
Alberto Zaccheroni, Claudio Gentile and even current Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni are candidates.

No. We have enough defenders anyway. Seems he wants to go to 4-4-2, which is why he wants the other two, but puts question marks over Diego in the short term. Anyway, nothing official as yet and TG24 have jumped the gun before, but they are not often wrong. They are saying 'Hiddink is Bianconero', but I wouldn't imagine anything will happen until after the Parma game if it does at all.

Hiddink seems to have gone cold for now, because his agent is saying it isn't true. However his agent wasn't with him in Italy, it was more a case of Bettega and co putting the proposal to him rather than any official meeting.
This made me laugh though:

Report: Russia frees Hiddink Reports in Russia suggest the country's Football Association has freed Guus Hiddink, allowing the Dutch tactician to replace Ciro Ferrara at Juventus.
The Bianconeri have been engulfed in crisis since December and were knocked out of the title race last night after they lost 3-0 at home to Milan.
Juventus have been repeatedly linked with Hiddink over the winter period with the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport even reporting that vice-general manager Roberto Bettega already has an agreement in place with the former Chelsea boss.
According to Russian website sports.life.ru, the Russian Football Association have accepted a request from Hiddink to train a club along side his duties as head of the national team.
“In line with principle, Hiddink can coach a club team. In the case of Chelsea there was a particular rapport with Roman Abramovich and we accepted the deal, but I don't believe that things will change in this case,” Vitaly Mutko, Russia's Minister of Sport, is quoted as saying.
La Gazzetta dello Sport understands the only condition would be that Hiddink renounces his pay for the duration of his time in club football.
This has been taken to mean that Juventus have in fact opened negotiations to hire Hiddink.
Juventus President Jean-Claude Blanc is expected to meet Bettega this afternoon to discuss the future.

I don't think he will join tbh, we'll end up with Ferrara until the end of the season. We are too willing to accept a poor league position in favour of 'building'. Always next year, as we keep saying.

Apparently John Elkann wants to change coach now.
Most stories coming out of Russia, Holland and Italy say the deal is near completion, even his big mouth agent has stopped denying it now. The concensus is that he will join after the Napoli Coppa Italia game. The only sticking point was wages, he wants €6.5m apparently but Juve are negotiating down. If they want the guy just pay the money FFS, Secco has already wasted €65m on crap

So what happens in the (extremely unlikely) situation that Juve put on a wonder show against Napoli? That would sum up our unprofessional club.

Jan 12 2010, 10:46 AM
I'm not sure how much foundation there is around this, but, if it does happen then surely it has to happen before the end of the current transfer window. Hiddink came into Chelsea last season and improved the fortunes of a club that had gone off the boil with a group of players he had to work with, i can't imagine how good a job he could do if he had time to bring in a few of his own choices first. He'd definitely have me keeping an eye out for the Juve results too if he took over, then maybe if Carletto doesn't work out at the Bridge we can do a manager swap so we can have Guus back

Just keep your hands off Ivanovic please.
