You must have to be exceptionally stupid to get caught twice.

Even Woodgate never gets caught and God gave him Haribo Starmix for a brain.

Mr. Heavyfoot
why was he taking weight loss pills? Seems stupid. must be trying to die on the pitch.

double indemnity on the life insurance policy if he dies in the line of his work?

Report: Mutu fails drugs test
Thursday 28 January, 2010
Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu has allegedly tested positive for sibutramina, a banned substance that stops you feeling hungry.

Il Corriere dello Sport understands Mutu failed an Italian Olympic Committee test on January 10 after Fiorentina's 2-1 victory over Bari in which the Romania international scored.

A second test is needed on his sample, but according to the code set out by the World Anti-Doping Authority, Mutu risks a suspension of between one and four years.

It's not the first time the 31-year-old has failed a drugs test.

Chelsea sacked him in 2004 after he tested positive for cocaine, an incident that resulted in FIFA's Dispute Resolution Chamber ordering Mutu to pay the Blues €17,173,990 in compensation.

Mutu appealed against that sentence and had it suspended.

yikes.gif this incident could see him retire.

What a twat, he's surely fucked this time, or maybe he has the same lawyer as Pete Docherty.

How dumb can you get...

He must be a prat, unless it was accidental of course, seems very unlikely. You would think someone in his position with a massive case hanging over him would be sensible.

I wouldn't jump the gun too early though, Italian football tests very strictly and WADA target it because of it, pushing for crazy sentences that often get overturned at tribunals, as happened to two Serie B players recently.

Sibutramina is the Italian term, sibutramine is what it is called in English, it's a weight loss drug that has to be administered closely.
Done It Again
Agree with Juvejay.

Unless he the most stupidest person in this world you just wouldn't do that twice after the shit he been through.
JuveJay
Not only is it on the FIGC and WADA banned list but it has actually been illegal in Italy since 2002 and Europe since 6 days ago.
Sir Mr Chelsea
some people never learn

It's not performance-enhancing, that is true. WADA are not very lenient, they will probably give him a year + ban and he might get it reduced to time he will already have served suspension for but it makes him look a dick. I think this is more serious than his cocaine one personally, but it's not an enhancer.

I dont get it? So what?....He took weight loss pills? And?......How does this affect his overall performance?....nonsense.

I don't know the particulars of this case, but they could be a masking agent for something even more serious. A lot of weight loss pills are banned by the sports leagues here in the US because of that. They may not be harmful or terrible themselves, but you have to wonder why a professional football player is taking weight loss pills. Is it to hide something else?
Avon
in this case it is classed as a stimulant by the WADA doping code

I would split Doping to about 4 levels.

4. Top level Performance enhancing drugs, change your body's physical structure, make you muscles bigger, bones heavier, increases physical strength by a long way. This would include HGH, High level steroids like Clenbuterol, the Clear etc. Gene doping

3.Blood boosters, EPO, increasing stamina, though not physical structure. Receational drugs that could be classed as Stimulants, Speed

2.Recreational Drugs, Recreational drugs not considered stimulants, like Cocaine

1.Mild stimulants that are available in over the counter medicine, Gin Sing, Pseudephedrine

how is cocaine not a stimulant when i used to take it i was buzzing out me nut for about an hour.

it is and it isn't. It makes you feel superconfident, but a sporting event with it and you'll burn out very quickly, you reflexes and co-ordination go
scottrh18
Most weight loss pills are diaretics so they flush your system quickly. There's no reason for a professional footballer to be taking a weight loss pill unless it's to hide something or flush his system quickly to avoid detection of something.

And you could have played 90 minutes of football perfectly and better than if you wernt on cocaine?....no

lol, you'd be flopping around like jellyfish by the end

I don't want to put words in your mouth, but do you think they should have no punishment for using illegal drugs?

punishment for coke should 3 months, like Pseudephedrine, but it stands at about a year

Castro more or less ended Javier Sotomayor's career over it

Then you probably aren't a professional footballer, unless you're Frank Lampard.
Ricky
I used to think Mutu was good looking when he first arrived at Chelsea. Is he gay?
JuveJay
It looks like he failed a second test 10 days later as well (shows the frequency of testing in Italy), with traces of the same substance, which is hardly surprising.

No. EPO should be at level 4 in your list, it works by alt4ering hormone levels as GH and steroids which almost invariably increase testosterone. In a lot of sports EPO would be the most effective thing you could use.

Ephedrine is perhaps the non-hormonal drug that would most improve performance in most sports.
