I only was able to watch the last 10 minutes so I'll have to watch the match in it's entirety later. But it doesn't surprise me if Bornstein was poor. He's not cut out of the national team IMO. Beasley looked active from what little I saw which is very encouraging. If we could get the 2002-2004 Beasley, then I like our chances of making it out of the group stage this summer.

First of all, hi to everyone here

You haven't missed much, it wasn't an attractive match. Apart from that a draw would have reflected the game better in my opinion. The Dutch team did not play well at all. And it's a miracle that the referee didn't give our player, Nigel de Jong, a red card for a completely unnecessary, dirty attack. I hope de Jong player will be left at home when we head off for the WC games. He not only puts the entire team on jeopardy by risking getting red cards for stupid outbursts like this, but even more important, he risks putting an opponent into the hospital and ending his career. It's not the first time he does this; it's the 3rd time in 3 matches that he has done something like this. Anyway, if he had gotten a red card (which he should have had!) we (the Dutch) would have been left with 10 players,.. and I seriously doubt that we could have won then,.. we played horrible. If we intent to play like this in a few months we might as well stay at home.
The bottom line is that the Dutch team has a lot to learn, and I think tonight has shown that the US has been a great teacher when it comes to playing by heart, without getting nasty on the field. I just hope the Dutch players are capable of learning. The US has something that many countries don't have; heart and soul in the game,.. the ability to play as a team instead of 11 players, each playing their own game. I've watched every match the US played in the Confederations Cup,...it will be a complete joy to watch your team play in a few months.

De Jong who also made a horrible tackle against Italy, yet the Dutch accused Italy and Chiellini of being dirty because Van Persie suffered a bad injury?
Anyway, welcome to the forums

What does APS stand for? I agree that the US work well as a team, at least when they play one of the stronger teams around.

That would be the same player yes. He pisses me off big time and I am totally clueless why he's still part of the selection. He's a good player, and doesn't need these retarded actions, yet he squeezes one in every single match. He should be kicked out of the selection, we have so many talented young players that can kick a ball better than a player.
I did miss the Dutch accusations regarding Chiellini though. Of course there are always words exchanged when a player gets injured as a result of a confrontation on the field, but I think that one was more an accidental result than anything else. I just hope Van Persie will be fit enough to join the WC,.. he's still trying to recover from that injury.

Great stuff
We looked okay. Not good or bad, shows how much we miss Dempsey, Davies and Onyewu with our poor depth.
Very lucky Holden's leg didn't snap, surprised it was only a yellow.
Netherlands looked in 1st or 2nd gear, never really looked like team we know they are, but Sneijder was very good, my view best player out there.
So, a penalty, a deflection and a completely unmarked header. Can't say we learned much, but nice to play quality opposition. Bedoya is now in the mix for me, worries for me was Donovan was invisible and I really hope I don't see Eddie Johnson in South Africa.
Welcome APS, great to see a new member.

I hope Holden's injury isn't serious and long.
Altidore looked pretty good.
Pretty much all I took away from this game.
Thanks for the warm welcome.
@We_are_QPR
De Jong would be doing most people a favor if he could hold his breath for a little while,.. let's say 2 hours would do just fine.
A little follow up on Stuart Holden; he's not likely to be back on the field for up to 6 weeks.

I guess the only bright side to the injury is it happened in this match and not one of the friendlies in May. Christ, if these injuries keep up we might have to send the U-20 team to South Africa
Timing of the injury could have been worse I guess, but this still means he doesn't get to play for at least 6 weeks, and then the road to recovery has to start, meaning it will take a while before he's back in shape. If i am right that means there's now 6 US players with injuries. :S
Yeah, and we have no depth so our chances of getting out of our group are riding on us getting healthy.

The Dutch?!? bit generalizing there wouldn't you say, as I recall it, most agreed that it wasn't a dirty tackle.
I agree tho that De Jong can be a dirty player, that tackle yesterday was totally unnecessary and deserved a red card. He often does that in friendlies, he thinks it puts the team on edge. Totally ridiculous, but he is our best DM and will be important at the WC.
The game itself was meaningless, you could see our players didn't show any desire out there. The US players were on them constantly and really put in the effort, it is understandable tho for them it's a real test, for our players it's more a nuisance. It's better to stop playing these friendlies, cause if the players aren't willing to put in the effort, then what's the point.

Too early to tell really, but we've got 4 world class players in Sneijder, VDV, Robben and Van Persie if they can hit their form and the rest of the team works for them than I can see us going far. SF maybe even final, don';t think we'll win it tho.
England got an easy group, no offense to our American members, but their team is not much better than a championship side imo, no real standout players. Don't think Algeria and Slovenia can do much damage either.

If our players had the same determination and desire as the US players, I'd say we'd have a good chance to win the WC. It will be interesting to see how the US will do, looking at the group they have as good a chance to progress as the other 2 teams alongside England
