Why are you surprised?
JuveJay
Yeah, why? icon_mrgreen.gif Funki, what are you thoughts?
Funki
I did not mean that in a sarcastic way, if that's what you thought.

As much as I'd like Inter to finish the season empty-handed, I must say that I wouldn't mind if it wasn't us that topped them. My main reason is basically the same as hers.

As for your mistrust issues, I do see where you're coming from. While I think that the 'big/top clubs' in most leagues tend to get more favorable calls than others, I do understand why there are more question marks at times when it comes to us. No matter how crap the Farsopoli trial was, I would've been a good moment to get rid of at least Fester but that did not happen unfortunately. Silvio may have 'stepped down' as president but we clearly know that he's still running the show. I look forward to the day that he finally sells the club.

Or that they fly over the Bermuda Triangle, whichever comes first. Let's put Moratti and his friends from Telecom on that plane as well.

Parma 1-0 Milan
Bologna 0-2 Roma

We're equal to Milan on points now, they are ahead of us because of the head to head.

The next match is the most important match of the season and if we can win, the scudetto race is going to be very very tight.

Result for Week 31 :

Roma 2-1 Inter
Milan 1-1 Lazio

first time we break into second place without Milan having a game in hand.

Results for the 32nd Round:

Internazionale 3-0 Bologna
Bari 0-1 Roma
Cagliari 2-3 Milan

All three teams have won their matches this weekend. Roma have eliminated what I thought was a tough match against a relatively good Bari side.

Next week Inter have one of the toughest fixtures of the remaining fixtures, away to Fiorentina.

Roma has an ''easy'' match against Atalanta at home and Milan with another ''easy'' home match against Catania.

Should Inter stumble, we should be able to get to the top of the mountain.

capo, let's just hope Vuci doesn't pick up another cartellino giallo against Atalanta or he's out of the derby!

It wouldn't surprise me too much to see all three of us, Roma, Milan, and Inter win again this week end.

For what it's worth, Josè Alberti the well known Argentine soccer pundit still backs Inter to win. I say he's too far away from Italia to sense the enthusiasm and belief coming out of Trigoria, Testaccio, and la città eterna in general, or he mightn't just be so ready to take things at apparent face value!

I implore the people of Italy to pray for Moscow to run Inter ragged tomorrow. Force them to pull hamstrings, twist ankles, and suffer diarrhea. It would be forever known as the Miracle in Moscow.
Carlo Romano
H.F. I must have a darker side than you...if all else fails before this campionato is through, I was thinking more along the lines of invoking la maledizione del malocchio... the curse of the evil eye! This dates back to the earliest days of the Roman Empire and probably originated in Egypt before finding its way round the Mediterranean and eventually to Rome!

Since it's highly unlikely there will be a Mano Fica or a Mano Cornufa hanging inside the Inter team "pullman" to ward off the evil eye, let's just say if things start to go badly for us and you see on your tv or pc monitor, a dude with long hair and a beard glaring at their bus, that will be me!

Mano Fica = literally "c*nt hand" because of the extended forefinger and small finger with the middle two and thumb folded under the palm.

Mano Cornufa = literally the hand that makes a cuckold...a man with an unfaithful wife.

I think Inter are hungry in the CL, hungrier than the Scudetto, some of the players Smell blood and it motivates them. I think they'll get past Moscow
Rentboy
I don't think Roma deserve it but I want them to win it, especially with Totti back in the team now.
Carlo Romano
Avon, the common sense response is we lupi need Inter distracted for as long as possible from Serie A. But after seeing highlights of Messi score his poker against Arsenal this evening, it would take a brave man to bet on Inter making the final so we better make sure we make the most of Inter's "distraction" while it continues.

Ricky, you being a Juventino will probably argue that your own club's present state and Fiorentina's slump, coupled to Milan and Palermo's stuttering form, have all been major contributors in allowing la mia magica Roma get where we are this season.

Not so different from those who said we owed our relative success of the past few seasons to Calciopoli.

But remember in saying you think we don't deserve it, we still had to go out on the pitch and make those results we have got actually happen for us...

For Ranieri to have been able to not only save us but turn us into contenders again took more than his just being a coach. Being a a born and bred Romano he has a fire in his soul he didn't have in Torino. That's something which can't be bought or undervalued!

But nonetheless, thanks for your kind wishes!
JuveJay
Carlo, don't take Ricky too seriously, we aren't sure which team he supports from one week to the next icon_mrgreen.gif
Carlo Romano
J.J. oh I'm about it buddy, believe me...

He hasn't said anything that isn't at least in part true. When I first saw his user title and posting style I was reminded very much of a "Ricky" I first met on the old XFF forum, then again later on Serie A. I know it's not the same guy...unless Denver has moved to Canada without telling us!

Ledesma: 'Lazio must survive'
Tuesday 27 April, 2010
Cristian Ledesma insists that Lazio won't roll over against Inter this weekend as they still need points to ensure their top flight survival.

Conspiracy theorists have suggested that Lazio might arrange something with Inter, thereby hurting their rivals Roma who are two points off the lead in Serie A.

Writing on his official website, Ledesma explained that such theories were complete and utter rubbish as there is much more at stake for the Biancocelesti.

“On Sunday we have the chance to save a season,” Ledesma wrote before getting a backlash from his fans.

“You must lose against Inter and then all celebrate under the Curva Nord pointing your thumbs down," wrote one fan.

“There are certain things you don't forget. I hope that you have a good memory. Don't disappoint us.”

Bastards.

All that's missing now is for a leak of info to be made known, confirming Lotito has demanded his players roll over and play dead against Inter!

this time, Roma plays before Inter on saturday so its going to be a pain in the ass for a day then. terrible feeling
Carlo Romano
capo, maybe it's just the mood I'm in today but if we beat Parma on Saturday, I am sure we will also win against Cagliari...and so I have the feeling it will then literally come down to our last match in Verona against Chievo. Even for an old pro like Ranieri, the tension level will be high. Amongst some of our players it will be worse...

But of course this all means nothing if Inter don't drop at least two points somewhere between here and the end!
stretchafc
Purely neutral perspective although Roma are top it's the fact Lazio are Inter's game in hand that means I have to say Inter will win it again, just for a shake up it would have been nice for Roma to win it.

'I support Inter,' says Chievo chief

Chievo President Luca Campedelli has admitted to being an Inter fan ahead of this weekend's match between the two sides.

Inter can wrap up the title if they win and results go their way elsewhere in Serie A.

“You know, I am an Inter fan, but only for 36 games of the year,” Campedelli smiled.

He then turned his attention to Chievo's campaign, which has been very satisfactory as they survived with relative ease thanks to Domenico Di Carlo.

“We are still in Serie A and we have a great academy. In the last few days I have been thinking about the great work Chievo have done in recent years.

“I have been thinking about the road we have been on that has brought us up to being a club that is appreciated in all of Italy, a club that represents a region in Serie A and has won the right to play it's ninth season in Serie A.

“And that, behind it all, there is a pool of youngsters that many clubs envy. This year, for example, Sbaffo and Hanine have made their debuts in Serie A; two players who represent the tip of the iceberg.”

Ah, so that is why Campedelli was calling the designators then laugh.gif Scratch this one, it's up to the baby bianconeri.

The Federal Prosecutor's Office has opened a preventive case for alleged bonuses promised by the Siena management to its registered members(players and staff). This would likely try to influence the outcome of the game against Inter in the last day of the championship.

So if Siena win they'll throw them in Serie C and if they lose, everything will be ok?

Opening this "preventive" case IS INFLUENCING THE OUTCOME OF A GAME.

Thanks to Mark @ juventuz.

So basically Inter are going to be gift wrapped this title either way, because if Siena look like they are trying too hard to win they will be punished.

FUCK SERIE A, FUCK THE FIGC AND FUCK ITALIAN FOOTBALL FOR BEING AN INCESTUOUS SACK OF SHIT.

how the hell is that possible, punishing a team because they're trying to win and not doing shit against nazio for taking it up the ass

im just tired of this shit, honestly.

They just make up new rules and laws, Italian football isn't democratic, it is a dictatorship.

The federal prosecutor, Stefano Palazzi, has referred Inter manager Jose Mourinho for his comments against Roma. The prosecutor has also decided to initiate proceedings against Siena and Inter player, Cristian Chivu.

Jose Mourinho has been referred for the violation of Article 5, paragraph 1, of the Code of sports justice, "for having expressed through statements and videotaped interview published in the media, comments damaging the reputation of individuals and clubs operating within the Federation and especially Roma's directors, and doubting their correctness, with reference to the last game of the championship, Siena-Inter. "

Siena are basically being pre-empted, Siena have already agreed to these bonuses for their players so basically if they beat Inter the FIGC will punish them.

Juan: 'It'll be different this time'
Tuesday 11 May, 2010
Juan has drawn a comparison with the last day of the season two years ago, only this time he believes Roma and not Inter will win the Scudetto.

In 2008, Roma led Serie A for almost an hour on the final day in Catania, only for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to come off the bench in Parma and score the goals that secured the title for Inter.

This year, Roma go to Verona for their last match of the season while Inter travel to Siena, against whom they have often won the Scudetto in recent years.

“We will go through the same emotions as two years ago, but the end result will be different,” Juan said.

“We need to live this week with tranquility, as only like this will we reach the right level of concentration.

“The Scudetto doesn't just depend on us, but I am confident that everything will go the right way.

“We have shown that we don't want to surrender. We want to play until the last second,” he concluded.
