In typical Italian fashion, we have saved up all the shit on them for a good day:

QUOTE
In April 2007, about three years ago, the Disciplinary Committee of the Football League inflicted Enrico Preziosi, president of F.C. Genoa, was given a five year ban by the Italian Football Federation for organising a cash bribe. Despite this, Mr. Preziosi continues to appear in all official matters regarding F.C. Genoa.

For example what happened last summer? Two good players, Diego Milito and Thiago Motta, arrived at F.C. Internazionale MIlan from F.C. Genoa. To make the announcement of the transfer from Genoa was the same president of the club, Enrico Preziosi on 20 May 2009 on-air on Telenordia.

He told: "We have sold two important players. I had breakfast with F.C. Internazionale President, Mr. Moratti and we reached and agreement.".

The Code of Sports Justice (Article 10 paragraph 1) says:

"Federal managers and executives, members of the company, shall be prohibited from activities related to transfers, the assignment of the contract or membership of players and technicians, unless they happen in the interests of their society. It is also unlawful because, in carrying out these activities, use of unauthorized persons still have contact with those whose licenses are suspended or banned. In these cases, acts, even if concluded, have no effect. "

Summarising, the code is clear: it is absolutely forbidden to carry out "mercato" with banned individuals. Where this happens, any agreed transfers are annulled. In other words, what does this mean? It means that the transfers of Milito and Thiago Motta are not valid.

What effect might this lead in the season? Milito this season played 31 times in the Italian Serie A (19 goals) 5 times in the "Italian Cup" and "Italian SuperCup" (1 goal), 9 times in the Champions League (4 goals).

Thiago Motta this season played in the Italian Serie A 22 times (3 goals) in the "Italian Cup" 5 times and in the Champions League 6 times.

For the "Serie A" only, art. 17 paragraph 5, which provides: "The punishment of the loss of sporting competition is imposed in proceedings under Article. 29, paragraphs 7 and 8, the company does participate in the tender or otherwise not disqualified players are entitled to take part. "Thus, because the membership of these two players clearly illegal, it is logical to expect that every game in which only one of the two played (even for a few minutes) involves the defeat.

For the Champions League, the rules are similar: any match played with Milito and/or Thiago Motta should be considered invalid.

As usual though, they will make up some adjustment to the rule, just as they did with the passport scandal, financial irregularities and doping.

The Italian sports federation prosecutor is charging Massimo Moratti and FC Internazionale with sporting fraud for dealing with Genoa president Enrico Preziosi while he was banned (see letter bottom). He directly dealt with him, admitted by Preziosi himself, that they had concluded a double deal for Diego Milito and Thiago Motta. This is strictly prohibited in Italy, and the maximum penalty is annullment of the players contracts plus a one point penalty for every game in which one of the players appeared in.

To quote Enrico Preziosi from a live show:
QUOTE
"I met [Inter] President Massimo Moratti for breakfast, and we have reached an agreement."

This is also printed in the Gazzetta dello Sport (Gazzetta dell'Inter), that fabled newspaper where Calciopoli stories were taken as truth by the federal prosecutor, no less.

In January, Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco was given a 1 month suspension for merely talking to Enrico Preziosi about a deal for Domenico Criscito, no deal was ever made. Inter actually signed Diego Milito and Thiago Motta, and both players played a key role as Inter won the treble.

Italian federation rules:

QUOTE
Article 1, paragraph 1:
Companies, executives, athletes, technicians, match officials and any other entity engaged in a competitive nature, technical, organizational, decision or otherwise relevant to the federation, are required to comply with WTO rules and Federal acts and must act according to the principles of loyalty, honesty and probity in all relationships covered in sporting activities.

QUOTE
Article 10, paragraph 1:
For federal managers and executives, to members of the company, members not of Article. 1, paragraph 5 shall be prohibited from activities related to the transfer, however, and the assignment of the contract or membership of players and technicians, unless they happen in the interests of their society. It is also unlawful because, in carrying out these activities, use of unauthorized persons still have contact with those who are licensed and suspended or prohibited. In these cases acts, even if concluded, have no effect.

Punishments:

QUOTE
Article 17, paragraph 5:
The punishment for the loss of sporting competition is imposed in proceedings under Article. 29, paragraphs 7 and 8 in the company listing:
a) the participate in each game are disqualified or otherwise no players are entitled to participate.

QUOTE
Article 17, paragraph 8:
The company that makes players take part in competitions which, due to irregularities caused by the same company, who the FIGC (Italian federation) has subsequently revoked the membership of, the penalty is applied by deduction of a point in the standings for each game they have participated in with the aforementioned players.

If Inter's games are annulled then they would lose both the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia. I'm not sure how the Champions League compares, that is down to UEFA rulings.

Inter's response to this has been a casual 'we will defend ourselves as usual' (a common thing these days it seems). Moratti pleads ignorance, but he can't hide from the fact he did it.

It really makes you wonder how Inter can actually defend themselves against their involvement in the Calciopoli scandal, the Telecom Italia international spying scandal and a sporting fraud case all at the same time. Must be a very powerful club. Oh...

Of course, the likely outcome, given who it is, is that Moratti will get a 6 month suspension, a fine of €25,000 to the club. But you never know, one day in Italy someone might actually uphold a written rule.

Inter under investigation

FIGC to look into Milito and Motta transfer

Milito: Transfer under investigation

The Italian football federation (FIGC) have confirmed they are investigating possible transfer irregularities after Diego Milito and Thiago Motta moved from Genoa to Inter Milan.

The FIGC confirmed they will question the presidents of both clubs over the double transfer which took place at the end of the 2008-09 Serie A season.

The case centres around the involvement of Genoa owner and president Enrico Preziosi, who is banned from footballing activities for five years, but has claimed to have instigated the sale of the duo to Inter.

Milito played an integral part in Inter's treble-winning season last term, scoring 30 times as the Italian giants scooped the UEFA Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia titles.

Bribing

A spokesperson for the Italian federation confirmed that their disciplinary committee have called Preziosi and Inter president Massimo Moratti up for questioning and revealed that more information will be forthcoming.

However, she refused to comment on reports suggesting the Nerazzurri could be stripped of one of their titles.

Preziosi was handed a five-year ban in May 2005 after he was found to be heavily involved in the club bribing Venezia to throw a match against Genoa.

The Grifone, who had just been promoted to Serie A for the first time in 10 years, were relegated to the third division.

The FIGC have known about a possible contravening of the ban for almost a year after Preziosi told local TV channel Telenord: "I saw Moratti at breakfast, we reached an agreement on the valuation of the two players and we shook hands.

"Between us there is a lot of sympathy and there could be other collaborations in the future."

more fraud in Italian football....

These guys invented the shit in 2006, hopefully they will now get what they deserve.

Inter as a club are involved in:

- The Calciopoli scandal
- The Telecom Italian spying scandal
- This transfer fraud
- Passport fraud
- Financial fraud - plusvalenza, over-valuing playing assets

They dodged the latter two because Berlusconi stepped in as it also affected his club, lets see how powerful they are if they can dodge the first three.

roflmao.gif Not much concrete of course, but I found that pretty funny... I would rather see, to be honest, Juve get what they deserve- their two titles back and 100+ million euros in compensation- than see Inter get what THEY deserve- relegation to Serie C2. Unfortunately, the former involves the FIGC both admitting that they completely f**ked up and either they or Inter (preferably the latter) paying out a huge sum of cash, so it's not going to happen.

Moratti: 'Mou's right, FIGC hate Inter'
Saturday 10 July, 2010
Massimo Moratti has been suspended for three months over transfer irregularities. “Jose Mourinho was right, they’re making Inter pay one way or another.”

The Nerazzurri President was handed the three-month ban and fined €45,000 after the FIGC Disciplinary Commission ruled that negotiations for Thiago Motta and Diego Milito last summer were irregular.

This is because they were led by Genoa President Enrico Preziosi, who was suspended due to an earlier punishment. Preziosi has now been banned for a further six months.

“I have a lot of respect for the judges, but very little for the Federation,” slammed Moratti in Tuttosport newspaper.

“Mourinho was right when he said they’d make Inter pay one way or another. He left; unfortunately I cannot do the same.

“During the inquiry our defence was not taken remotely into consideration.

“In any case, this sentence is just the latest chapter in a hostile attitude towards Inter. I do not feel remotely guilty of anything.”

Due to the ban, Moratti will not be allowed into the locker room to see his players after the Italian Super Cup against Roma in August.
I am, quite honestly, absolutely speechless. Can anyone IMAGINE what this would've been like had it been Juve in the same position? We'd be seeing fines in the millions and cries for them to be sent back down to Serie B. The double standard continues, unbelievably.
Funki
Not surprising for Federazione Inter Giuoco Calcio to give them a slap on the wrist and quite hypocritical of Moratti to criticize them.
JuveJay
A pathetic, and totally expected 'punishment'. Yet Moratti is not content with getting away with a slap on the wrist for a very serious offence, he has to make out as if he and his club are being victimised. Just drop a bomb on this club, they are fucking scandalous.

Another passport scandal for Inter, this time involving Maxwell. At Inter he was registered as having an EU passport but at Barcelona he is registered as a non EU player.

His Dutch passport has gone 'missing' rolleyes.gif

This club is a fucking joke, how they get away with it time again is unbelievable. They dodged Recoba's fake passport already on a technicality. FIFA are investigating this. Watch them dodge this one as well rolleyes.gif

Forgot all about Recoba and his left foot.
Funki
Missing wiretaps, missing passports, missing genitals. Why can't the club itself go missing.
