Quite an even game in Mestalla between Valencia and Atlético.
Roberto Soldado was decisive again, as he scored the only goal in the 52nd minute. Atlético tried hard in the second half, without much luck; sometimes Guaita denied them, other times their own finishing let them down.
Time for Soldado to be called up for the NT, methinks.
Valencia CF: Guaita; Miguel, Rami, Víctor Ruiz, Mathieu; Albelda, Tino Costa, Pablo Hernández, Piatti; Jonas, Soldado.
Atlético de Madrid: Courtois; Silvio, Miranda, Domínguez, Filipe Luis; Mario Suárez, Tiago, Gabi; Reyes, Adrián, Falcao

Once again Robert Soldier

I was Really nervous in the last 10 minutes, they were all over us and we weren't trying to attack anymore. I'm glad we got the 3 points but we really need to improve our finishing in goal

Victor Ruiz and Rami made our defense look solid

Great result for Valencia yesterday, against an Atletico team that should be much better.
Soldado has been an incredible signing, and one that I didn't have high hopes for at first. Especially in the wake of Mata's departure I was unsure who would give him service. But something about Emery's system allows the team to function with or without the stars, which is incredible.

Didn't know Albelda still played for you lot, he must be like 35 by now?

34, not a bad guess
